Just don't talk to ignorants about it. Problem solved. Further to that, if people don't notice anything odd about you, then why tell them? It only creates problems in my experience. I haven't told anyone at work that I have it, and they're none the wiser. I'm just another frugal-with-words sound en...

If you feel you don't need a romantic relationship, then why be worried about it? Likewise, if you don't feel a deep connection to other human beings, embrace it. Enjoy the company of your friends and don't worry about how 'connected' you feel. Society sends us a constant bombardment of messages say...

Don't do it. Ever. EDIT: Employers are afraid of taking risks. If they have 100 applicants and one of them has a disorder they don't know much about, and 99 of them don't have it... guess who they're going to pick. No matter how much positive spin you put on it, they'll always pick the one that look...

If I don't discipline myself into conforming to a normal sleep/wake schedule I fall into a cycle of 26-27 hours. I have to say, the times between midnight and dawn are often my most productive. I don't think it's affected by Asperger's, I have many NT acquaintances who are similarly nocturnal. I wou...

Well I still watch The Simpsons quite a lot, I like it because while it's supposed to be a kids show, it has such witty social commentary and political satire. I watch it for the same reasons as you just mentioned, it's lighthearted and makes me laugh, but it's great that it speaks on more than just...

There was a band called Worship... Can't find a lot of info about it, they released a demo called "Last Tape Before Doomsday", subsequently released on vinyl and CD, renamed respectively. Hard to find, just google the album title. That's about as depressing as I know of

I don't like it and sometimes I have to leave in a hurry, but usually I can handle it for long enough to get what I need. I usually try to go late at night early in the week when it's nearly empty.

I shared an apartment with two others for most of this year. They were awesome people and gave me heaps of space and support. Halfway through the year they started seeing each-other which took a while to get used to, but we remain good friends. Next year I plan to live alone, since I'll be moving ar...

I think any difference in outward appearance in Aspies would be due entirely to its' symptoms. For example, I think there's a particular way that a lot of us hold ourselves (awkwardly!), which is only subtly different, and most NTs don't even pick up on it. I also pick up on the nervousness and dith...

I was diagnosed with AS about 10 years ago. I frequently get labelled as 'mild', and most people I meet are genuinely surprised when I tell them I have AS; but I still have the same characteristic AS difficulties (I just manage to mostly mask the visible ones). In terms of diagnosis, honestly, eithe...

Check the jack on the guitar as well. You might want to check the contacts are all good on the inside of all the jacks (that means opening it up). The problem is not with the tube.
