I think that it is a preset condition and that environmental things trigger it at different stages of life for different people. My son who is 14 now was a developmentally normal baby and was in some ways advanced ( he walked at 8 1/2 mo. ) but he had a hole in his heart and at the age of 11 1/2 mo....

Hi I am a mom to a HFA 14 year old son that I have been homeschooling for almost 2 years now.
