I've never heard of this stereotype? Is this an American thing?

But we are the home of Simon Baron-Cohen (may his works be scattered, may his name be forgotten), so I think the stereotype about autistic women here is that autistic women don't exist.

Hmm. The only autistic trait that really fits is hyperfocus. Which is why monotropism is so self evidently true to me -- it's the only model that accurately describes my experience. What, exactly, is reduced connectivity supposed to cause..? It's been reported, but I don't know what effect it is supposed to have on the brain.
