Oh that sucks. I really understand your frustration. I have seen what can happen to people who are unemployed. But the thing is, in 200-2002 the market wasn't good in Norway either. Engineers were unemployed for a long time, and it was allmost impossible to get a job unless you had good contacts. So...

In Norway engineers now get snatched out of school at once when they're done. It is sick everyone calls it an engineering-crisis because they need so many engineers. But I am really afraid that the "good times" will end before I am done at school, and engineers will go unemployed.

Do not go into electrical engineering, that is a totally dead field. Manufacturing engineering is dying but process engineering isn't too bad. Civil engineering is highly in demand but does require a lot of social interaction. Mechanical engineering can lead to the widest variety of jobs but that u...

I am looking at mechanical engineering and it looks really fun, but going into structural engineering in civilengineering also look really fun.
