Chicken before the egg. Gaming probably just offers refuge to those who are isolated, overweight and eccentric to begin with.

I was on WOW for a year. Even for an 8-foot blue Mage with face tentacles and a tail, most people found me a bit eccentric for them.

Kind of like having to choose between burning alive and freezing to death. I hate that too. Hey, can a comic book character ditch you at the mall or shout you out at a party. pretty easy to fall in love with something with no flaws. Pretty understandable. If you do have a friend he could always use ...

I just had to kick two friends to the curb over this. I told Mr. popular that i dint want to play DnD anymore because everyone else started canceling, he called me an a**hole then left. worst part is, I still have to work with these people. The ones who never bothered to show up, are still golden wi...

The guy also makes fun of Aids and Cancer then turns around and makes glassy-eyed appeals for his firefighter's charity. Just because someone's blunt doesn't make them honest.

From what I've seen, Asperger's doesn't effect what people believe in, it only makes them believe it more so. I was raised hard-line, anti-war, tax-and-spend leftist and still am. Ive known NT people far to the left of me, but they don't cringe when they watch Penn and Teller or hear "beer for the h...

I think the fact that you feel a transgressor for being here, and feel the need to admit it, (Im going out on a limb) pretty much proves you belong here. Either way, even if AS no longer effects you directly, your experience can still be useful to others.

Probably had to happen to him eventually-- he should just be glad it was someone who had some sort of empathy for him; after all, most people, myself included, need to be reminded once in a while. It sounds like this guy uses bullying as a coping mechanism--if that's true its probably better he have...

Sometimes a sad movie can be cathartic--a depressing one just leaves you flat.

If you want to feel empty and futile, try looking into the French new wave. [existential shudder]

To me, most religions are, to some extent, a scam; some people just succeed in scamming themselves, that's all. Every one of them has good intentions in there, somewhere, but any morality that considers itself so absolute is BOUND to be corrupted by power-grabbing, assuming that wasn't its intention...

With me, it usually only happens when someone's painted me into a corner-- I feel stressed out and helpless--that's what usually does it, stress. Up until I was about 18, it used t make me cry actually. Ultimately I don't think this i about anger or disdain for authority as much as its about frustra...

Jacob Have I Loved --Katherine Paterson --- No one with a penis could possibly like this book, so much absolute drama, it was like reading the box on some Feminine Hygene product. I'm not some misogynistic creep either; I actaully LIKE Jane Austin, but if you want to get little boys to read, then d...
