Technically a Spanish movie.

Or, maybe you're thinking of something else?

No, this movie was set almost immediately after Spanish Colonization, like 1500s when the Spaniards brought Catholicism and The Inquisition.

Beware of retaliation against you for putting your foot down. In some sectors they will reduce your hours or quiet fire you. I racked up OT in a work environment in which it was optional, probably because they knew most of the employees were unruly, commuted long distance and the place ran 24/7; if ...

I can relate to your grief. Losing friends and loved ones is the worst experience I have ever had. Many of my cousins are like siblings to me and I never thought I could get out of bed after losing any of them.

I asked her not to do that and she has not sold it thus far. ...

If you'll notice the list of beliefs posted are what a subset of Americans believe but pretty much none of them have anything to do with Christ or Christianity - they're merely using the label of "Christian," to legitimize their crazy beliefs and try to sell them to others in joining in o...

WASPs had largely become secular and assimilated other European groups into the mainstream by the time the postwar Generation turned toward Religion in the '70s. Christian Nationalism may/may not succeed in its goals (Evangelical Christianity's influence has been in steep decline since the early aug...

I can't recall the name of it, but it's out of print (1985) and is about the Spanish Inquisition in The Philippines immediately after colonization.

I'm thinking about becoming more physically active now that I'm rapidly approaching middle age. I've never been an athlete at all, but was a halfway decent swimmer in my youth and enjoyed Badminton the few time I've played it; I've heard that Badminton is more demanding than Tennis and enjoyed it mo...

Dad was into World Music and that tape was definitely part of my toddler-hoods' soundtrack; I doubt I could recall any other song from that album.

I've been wanting to read that one since it came out; I laughed when some people thought her claims were incredulous. Jesus Land by Julia Scheeres is a similar, but much more depressing autobiography.

I have never had anything above an entry level position, this is typical of adults born since 1980. We are all being compensated below our skill level, even in economic sectors that are desperate for new workers no matter how impressive the job title is.

I just finished a 19th-early 20th century Horror anthology from Dover publications. I've loved Horror and ghost stories since childhood, but hate most Horror movies. The Phantom Coach (1864) is one of my favorite Horror shorts; I don't think I have ever read a mid-late 20th century or 21st century ...
