Research suggests that identity development is different in ND people. Specifically, around adolescence, NT people go through stages of identity development where they "try on" different socially prescribed identities (e.g., Goth, Emo, Skater) until they find one they like or combine aspec... |

Unlike most people in my area, I didn't have my first drink until I was in my mid-20s. I was socially forced into drinking by a "friend" who exploited my rigid behaviour. He knew that I would feel obligated to drink if he bought me a drink since it would be rude to not accept the gift, esp... |

Not to get pedantic, but here is the definition from the APA dictionary of psychology: "higher level cognitive processes of planning, decision making, problem solving, action sequencing, task assignment and organization, effortful and persistent goal pursuit, inhibition of competing impulses, f... |

I read a lot. Mostly novels and mostly in "genre" fiction (e.g., sci-fi, fantasy, horror) or non-fiction. I find non-genre fiction very boring and really don't understand why it's held up as "better" than genre fiction. Most of it is just needless interpersonal drama or overly ph... |

As I'm sure all of you are aware, the DSM-5 lists one of the diagnostic criteria of ASD as: "Deficits in social-emotional reciprocity, ranging, for example, from abnormal social approach and failure of normal back-and-forth conversation; to reduced sharing of interests, emotions, or affect; to ... |

I wrote a book and published it on Kindle Direct Publishing. It's definitely not The Great American Novel or anything, but I liked writing it and some of the themes may be relevant to the users of this forum. Please check it out if interested. I would love feedback: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CB1RX... |

I think what you're picking up on is not just true for Resident Evil, but all popular media produced by corporations. We are at a point in history where corporations receive immediate feedback about what works/doesn't work when making a product for an audience. When they know something works, they m... |

Yes but the thing is, when you do 'buck up' and do the conventional things other people do, and follow their trajectory, such people get jealous! When I was at school/ university/ my first job, I was constantly told to grow up, sort my life out, start fitting in with everyone else...then I met a ma... |

I don't know if it is canon that he has ASD, but Maurice Moss from The IT Crowd (I know, Graham Linehan is an awful person but I like the show anyways) was always someone I related to a lot growing up. It was the first time I saw someone like me in the media. The second is probably Abed Nadir from C... |

I am familiar with the quiz, but not the Neanderthal Theory.
Is there any evidence to support the theory? |
