I've been fortunate enough to avoid getting in too much trouble, with the exception of a couple of speeding fines and a written warning as a kid for riding my bike with no hands.

There could be many reasons, I think it's important not to over react. If it were me doing this I would likely be overwhelmed by several things to pull this behaviour, but that doesn't necessarily mean much. Best of luck.

In my experience venting only amplifies whatever I'm feeling and puts people off. I've had more luck identifying the emotion I'm struggling with and telling people calmly why that is and what I need. Takes some effort and practice though. I had to learn how to do this.
