I believe that if you're on the spectrum and there's something you really love, if you work hard, you can succeed doing what you love. But not becoming a billionaire doesn't mean you didn't succeed.

I just had two meltdowns in one hour. The first from anxiety and overstimulation, the second from a lack of support. I recently started a topic about the most supportive neurotypicals in people's lives. I don't have one. My family either doesn't believe I'm on the spectrum, doesn't care and won't do...

Have you met a neurotypical who just got you and knew just what to do to make you comfortable? What did they do?

The way you put all the common stereotypes in one conversation made me laugh. Here was a youtube autism advocacy video from over a decade ago that was also done in a lighthearted fashion that was very popular when I first joined Wrong Planet. I have not seen it posted in a long time. Some reference...

Best thing: Anything Studio C related.

Worst thing: Clothes that are tight-fitting. I can't stand the feeling.

Have you ever seen Studio C?

How common is it in people with autism to hyperfocus on the science of body language? I've been hyperfocusing on this subject for about a week or two.

*Sorry for the long post* I wrote an autism awareness comedic sketch a few months ago and I've only had reactions from neurotypicals. I was wondering if other actually autistic people would like it. It's a sketch for the sketch comedy show Studio C (hasn't been sent in) and it also references Doctor...

My special interest (Studio C) has been releasing a lot of content and new surprises lately and I love it. But I feel like it's taking a toll on me and I have a hard time getting myself to engage in the content even though I badly want to. Am I getting overwhelmed by the excitement? Is that a thing?

Could someone please explain what autistic burnouts and shutdowns are? I don't know if I've ever had them, or if I have, I didn't know what it was.

I find the front of the movie theater to be the loudest. Sit way back and the volume is less.

I made the poor decision to not put my headphones on because I was masking. Lesson learned.

I am so sorry to hear about what your friend did. My best friend ghosted me for two months, and when I texted her to see if she still wanted to be friends, she replied saying no because I didn't treat her with "basic human respect". All I did that she didn't like was explain my boundaries ...

After a loud day and your senses being overly sensitive, when you lie in bed, finally with quiet all around you, do you hear all the noises you heard echo in your mind? Every loud laugh, clap, air-conditioning unit, overload of conversations, background noise - everything. Does it reverberate in you...

I am someone who isn't embarrassed about my meltdowns. I just got out of one a few minutes ago. I thought we could have this discussion where we talk about meltdowns, our experiences, and what our triggers are. It could help us process. Do you have meltdown filled dreams? (I keep getting them. I had...

Yes! I'm in a stressful situation right now with a sick pet and hyperfocusing on videos about body language has been a distraction for me.
