As for homelessness, that is a valid concern to have, but try not to let it get you down too much (though I know that is easier said than done and not so much something that you can completely control). I think it is a great apology and you seem sincere. Based on your explanation, it makes sense why you did what you did, and hopefully, your friend will forgive you.
