We have plenty of shelters and not many homeless people in my area. During the day of freezing temperatures that we had, we had many shelters open and many businesses kept open to act as shelters. But some people died in their homes. From carbon monoxide poisoning, fire, and freezing. They didn't ha...

I was asked to hold a snake several times when I was a helper for the people that taught about wildlife at my school. I was like 10, though. The other snakes I held were two of my friend's pet snakes. And then twice when a snake was in my way on the path and I just grabbed it and threw it into the b...

I think that for Chinese foods, it is more about the Americanized or even Canadianized version of the dish. The dishes were often changed by Chinese restaurant owners to appeal more to the local taste. But I do not think that ethnic foods are generalized. I have had very authentic tasting Russian fo...

Yea, it really sucks at first to reduce calorie intake but it gets easier and easier. And then it becomes harder and harder to eat larger portions. And then cravings for really sweet or really salty things go down. Lowering calories and reducing intake of sugary and salty treats sucks but it does ge...

Something I think usually helps to show you are invested is if you can ask a reasonable clarifying question, or make a reasonable inference from what they have said. Perhaps basically similar to, "My house has flooded." "Oh no! Is everyone ok/was anyone hurt?" or asking about st...

yea we can celebrate anything we want to on any day but it's profitable and also convenient to set things on certain days for a large group of people. I could choose to celebrate valentines with my husband on the 20th instead because of the birthdays that around the 14th that make the day more hecti...

A lot of people freak out about needing to find out what to do in life and which university to go to and about a perfect GPA and test scores AT 18 OR YOUNGER. That is a horrible age to try and figure out all of this stuff while also worrying about social stuff and several classes a day and homework ...

Yea. I was like shutting myself down in preparation for my whole world changing to go to college.

But my counselors and parents helped me by making some mini-routines I could follow that didn't rely on a set schedule. Since schedule changes every semester in university.

Yes, math was fun. But when I saw it written out in different ways. When the same problem is written or explained in different ways, it gets easier to understand because I find how all the ways are connected and understand each method better. This was in high school, though. I haven't taken a math c...

I sometimes hear classmates laugh around me and joke and whisper. I usually think it is about their own stuff but sometimes another classmate warns me that they are talking about me or I overhear things being said about me. I tend to overhear things because classmates seem to think I cannot hear the...
