All said and done, I would not deprive yourself of the joys of aviation. Go get your private certificate and take it from there. You'll NEVER regret one hour of your flight time. Admittedly, there may be more challenges at the professional level, but Ive seen some awful NT pilots who have licenses. ...

I didn't do it long enough to find out whether that would be so or not. I'm sure lots of pilots don't ever find it boring. I really enjoyed the sensation of flying, and liked seeing things from so high up, and enjoyed the appearance of the sky and clouds and so on, and I thought that might pr...

I don't see why not. Driving, riding, flying is about knowledge and control. The biggest issue for someone with AS is if they are symptomatic in such a way that in a crisis they would panic, ensuring disaster for themselves and others, because their AS prevents them from staying in control. I drive...

NTs don`t have the capability to think as fast as Aspies especially when complicated machinery, aircraft or computers are involved-perhaps NTs should leave the flying to us and stick to smiling and serving the coffee in the back of the plane. I agree with this comment. Most commerical flying is done...

I once asked a pilot, he said flying a plane is all about pressing the right buttons on the computarized panel and checking the clocks all the time. He thought it was quite monotonous, boring and unchallenging for him. That's all I know... Very true. flying is exicitng at first but then gets very b...

Hi, I have a FAA commerical pilot certificate with single and multiengine ratings. I've also a CFI and CFII which allows me to teach both instrument and airplane skills. I'm a self-diagnosed aspie myself and never failed a checkride. Examiners and those checking me out have usually said I fly very w...

I relate with you guys. In my adolescent years and still slightly to this day, I found myself imitating a well respected frined who seemed smart and socially cool. I too had begun to act like him in many ways. Mannerisms, expressions, most things which were seemingly blank from my identity. I'd hear...

I wanted to be a pilot-sigh but I can't see full pixels out of one of my eyes-. I couldn't even pass the sight medical for a cessna- You may be able to get what's called a SODA or Statement of Demonstrated Ability. It's a medical waiver which allows you to obtain a medical under certain provisions....

"Acting is the shy man's revenge." 8) As shy and introveerted as I am, I feel I could do really well at acting. I did take a class in college and enjoyed it. I think there is somethign to be said for someone like myself who might flourish in such a setting. The weird thing is, I feel more comroftab...

I used to fly and instruct out of FRG in Farmingdale, Long Island. Havent flown in like 2-3 years. I agree, it is very expensive to take lessons. For me to go from student pilot to acquiring all of my ratings and certificates up to CFI, took 6 years in total. I had to wait until I had more money to ...

I definately seem to resemble some fo the physical traits mentioned throughout. I also want to mention that I have always been told I look a lot younger for my age. The yare usually off by 5-7 years. Like when I was 29, peoplewouldthink im around 22-23. Now that im 34, people say i look like im 26-27.
