Let's not sit in judgement or make broad generalizations based on the limitations of our own experiences. Amen. It's fairly ignorant to say someone does or does not have AS simply because your condition is worse or better on some level. It's bad enough that we have NT's saying that AS doesn't exist...

centinela: i also only found small increments with those light ken-and-barbie dumbbells, and i honestly dont know if there is any viable use for them at all. what kinds of weights workout do you do? if you are using free weights, its quite easy to build up to the next weight - doing negatives, supp...

There exists mini-weights called micro weights that come in as light as quarter pound increments, but they are expensive. I've seen some web sights which describe how one can make inexpensive home-made ones from chains and even pennies. Unfortunately, as you stated, health clubs normally increase i...

Another aspie friend pointed me to the http://www.hypertrophy-specific.com website - lots of awesome information. Most of the people I show it to at the gym just shrug their shoulders. I found that for a female, it is very hard to increase my load. Most weights go up in 5lb increments. Once I get hi...

I have to agree that it seems more like my mental state and the way I react to things determines my depressions or anxieties, more so than my exercise. Though if it were just a chemical imbalance I'm sure exercise would help that. I workout 4-5 times a week and I only get depressed when my aspie min...

I don't hate women but women have always been the meanest to me. :? I also tend to get along better with men. My interests have always been tomboyish so it just kind of worked out like that. It might have something to do with AS I guess. I've never really sat there and analyzed it. I do have some gi...

I thought it was interesting that my counselor (before anyone realized I had AS) suspected that my behavior, depression and anxiety was because of sexual abuse. When I was 2 I showed signs of being abused and my mom immediately took me to a child psych who confirmed it. She then threw an abusive fam...

I did Zen Karate (cross of Shotokan/Tae Kwon Do/Kickboxing) in Canada for a number of years. It was my "aspie" hobby that I loved and tried so hard to be an expert in. I went to tournaments and actually made some awesome friends. Everyone was really nice! Then I had to move to the USA and could neve...

I have a lvl 70 Horde hunter (Raiding mostly: Kara, Gruuls, ZA) Our guild is on a low pop server and Horde is having a hard time making it to the higher lvl raids unfortunately. Have some lower characters like a 55 warrior, 48 pally, 46 mage. My mom also has a lvl 70 hunter. I also recently got a pa...

I'm sorry your wife isn't very supportive. I'd recommend that she go to counselling to since being at "odds" with you isn't really going to help much with your diagnosis or future attempts at understanding yourself. She seems to be placing all the blame on you which isn't very healthy on a marriage ...

I used to have a nasty job like that. It wasn't worth all the crap to stay there and continue to be miserable and treated like dirt. I ended up suing the company because they wouldn't pay me over time when I legally deserved it. They retaliated and fired me LOL Oh well. Screw them. I also like the h...

How much do you like your boss, Centinela? If you think he or she is liable to be understanding then perhaps you need to book time with them to have a talk and bring it up then. Good plan and ideas. Sounds like what I will probably end up doing. I have one boss I can trust not to create an instant ...

She knows. I didn't say so at the interview, although I am thinking of doing so next time, but I wrote it on a medical form. That is definitely kind of cool that they accomodate you in return for your abilities. I wish all places did that! I'm still debating myself whether or not to come out or jus...

If my boss is cognizant of the fact that AS exists and the basic traits, she knows that I have it- a very simple algorithm indeed. Well definitely if they are very familiar with it! And it's up in the air how they would take it. But that might also depend on how strongly you show it and how well th...

Here is a question for people who work or have worked: Have any of you admitted to your boss that you have AS or do you hide the fact? I know there are plenty of reasons to not admit it but there are also plenty of reasons to tell an employer as well. Why did you choose to come out or not come out? ...

It's possible there could be more than one Asperger's. The Scandinavian one and maybe other ones that are somewhat different. But I don't know really, just a wild guess. It's just something I observed really. I do have to think that there is definitely more than one asperger's, regardless of cultur...
