I am proud to anounce the completion of the second book in the Adventures of Abigail Whipple series, Under the Cloak of Darkness. Its only 187 pages long, so I'm not sure its a novel, even with the first one being 235 pages long. The second book has slightly more than 46 thousand words. I think I've...

I have been studying the works of Jane Austen as of recently, and have tried to write a companion novel to Pirde and Prejudice. But, the language is very thick, and somewhat beyond me. Not to mention my normal writing activities, which include work on a fantasy novel series not too out of line with ...

I'm not sure if this is the right style to apply to a Jane Austen novel, so I am giving some people a sneak peak at the first three, tenative pages as they stand. It may be totally off the mark, I'm not sure. The curse of being an asperger's writer I suppose. Thanks for your time. My Dearest Jane I ...

I am just so scared of the future. I live in a rural town, where the nearest school of higher education is at least an hour's drive away. THat also seems like the cultural headquarters of the entire area. And I may not be able to get their for even therapy with the cost of oil going up, the value of...

Good afternoon I thank you in your support of my assertion that Jane Austen may have had a touch of Aspergers, at the least. Since you are such a great fan of hers, and I would like a second pair of eyes to look over my work, please visit my latest post on the wrong planet writing showcase. What is ...

To all Jane Austen fans Please get out your copy of Pride and Prejudice, and check to see if the following names work in the context they are placed in. This is for my companion novel to Pride and Prejudice, of which the name I will keep silent until it is done. This is the will of Fritgerald Darcy,...

Jullian I read your post on how you've taped a monolouge for your funeral. I know how you must feel. At one time, I spent my writing career sharpening suicide notes. But recently, there is one saying that I think best fits my situation, and I hope it does for yours too. Often the test of courage is ...

I've often thought of suicide. I figured four people would show up for my funeral, my family and my therapist. But, now when I consider myself that way, I remember this saying
Often the test of courage is not to die, but to live.

Just because Jane Austen wrote about it, doesn't mean she understood it. She was a social recluse, talking only to her family, and having few friends. Her familiarity with small talk and other items seems more a passive understanding than an active one. As in she could write it, but she wouldn't be ...

Dear Graelwyn I know exactly how you feel. I'm a write, and nothing I write seems to be good enough. I've rewritten my things over a dozen times, sometimes lengthening, sometimes shortening. I tried once to sell it, to an agent. It was a pinpointed laser targeted shot, and even then, I was rejected....

The way the other's who have written sequels will decide how I write mine. I am expecting a lot of sexual stuff from the modern people who have decided to do it. If that's the case, and my plot stays in tact, I should be able to pull off a true Jane Austen like book. Just some of the subjects I've o...

Jullian That's about my understanding of string theory and quantum mechanics. I can't wrap my mind around the math either, hence why I'm a writer and not going to MIT :) But seriously, thank you for the encouragment. Recently, I've taken a bent on romantic novels, and I'm preparing to sideline my ma...

Jullian I mainly write fantasy, science fiction, and romance. An odd mixture, but I've always been a sucker for a good ending. The only project I have is one I've been working on five years with very little break. The Adventures of Abigail Whipple series is a five novel series about Abigail Whipple'...

Jullian I don't believe that anything can stop anyone from writing good characters, just so long as you have the right tools. I am often reminded of Lourel Yourk's book (don't hold the spelling against me, I'm not certian of it) Take your characters to dinner. I know exactly how mine would act at a ...

Jullian You must be quite the writer yourself to have shown such good taste in preserving the Austen qualities while still making the passage clearer. I ask that if you ever have any writing problems of your own, I would be most obliged to try and help, however young I may be at writting. I only too...
