It's pretty mediocre so far, I guess. I love taking fun classes, being in the top band, and getting lead roles in plays, but the academic rigor is eating me up. Socially there's way less drama compared to middle school, but I still need to constantly be on guard to avoid conflict. It's kinda depress...

I was excited about the freedoms associated with adolescence (e.g. picking your classes, having a phone, etc) but afraid of what would happen with my peers. I'd seen fictional portrayals of teens becoming ruthless bullies, doing drugs, having sex, etc, and I didn't want to get caught up in the drama...
