Earlier tonight, I posted a status on Facebook about an occurrence that happened back 28 years ago during the Fourth of July fireworks event. As I posted it on Facebook: "28 years ago today, my parents took me to experience the fireworks display for the very first time. The night...did not go well. ...

I came to a very chilling realization, earlier tonight: to sum it up, I broke up with my now ex-girlfriend in late '12; I thought I'd finally gotten closure a few months back, but I officially got it with in the last few weeks. Both my Dad and my room-mate were surprised to hear it, thinking I was j...

In a way I'm actually kind of glad I care about other people and what they think, because if I didn't then I would be a horrible shell of a human being. It's a painful thing to live with and put up with, and I often wish I could shed it, but I know it would be wrong to. I don' know about that; I ai...

My classmates probably think that I'm just insane (not in a good way) and ultra shy with weird obsessions and routines (stimming etc). I rarely speak in school but when I'm asked to speak about Nazi Germany or dinosaurs I don't shut up and can go on for eternity, and drive my classmates up the wall...

Bla I just don't care anymore....I am on SSI currently tryinng to come up with a plan to get off it some day, what I'd really like to do is start a brewery and make awesome beer. I've recently decided to just be myself and see how people react, I need social connection so maybe a wee bit desperate ...

I find it very hard to not care at all what others think. I care at least a little. Every now and then I don't but that is not very often. Same here. I would love to quit caring and just do my own thing, but in my case that's simply not possible. I'd have to become a full-blown sociopath in order t...

Yes, of course they understood; they understood where you flawed which, in their minds, gave them a brief sense of security. That's what you're trying for, seriously? Just by how you're describing your attempts at body language, I really think you're trying too hard to succeed at it; it's like you'...

major fallacy, my dear: you're explaining yourself to them with the belief they'll actually understand it. No, non-Autistic folks do not currently understand how our minds work. You can explain to kingdom come, and they're not gonna care. When you say Autism, they think "Rain Man". However, I can o...

Let's say you did have the knowledge of exactly how you might be perceived; what would you do with it? Also, that picture in the profile: is that you? Typically, if I know that behaviour X evokes a reaction Y from others, next time I do behaviour X, I say "you might have felt Y about my behaviour X...

that's also part of the reason why I mentioned I own my own business; I do want to rise up in the world, but on my terms, not theirs. Of course you'll repel people; it's part of why they hold us at arm's length. And don't forget: it's not just you that repels them, it's also their own insecurities....

My dear, I'm not an extrovert, and btw....I'm also a cashier! The trick is to just have fun . I just go to work, and do my job, and at times even play up my quirkiness; I do it to have fun on my job, and to keep myself from going insane. I also own my own business, which I'm trying to get off the g...
