I cry watching films because I get so involved, more than I am in life, not a whole lot in life makes me cry.

My psychologist was the one who saw Aspergers in me, my psychiatrist doesn't believe in it. So my experience is psychologists are the ones to believe and psychiatrists monitor medication. She didn't diagnose me though, I went to a specialist and she diagnosed me and she's the one I see now. Psychiat...

I find it really hard putting things into words, frequently talking about 'that man that did that thing' and similar such sensical things. I also pick up anyones accents and ways of speaking around me, my brother and his friends are really lazy speakers, dropping letters all over the place, for exam...

Excuse?
Surely unless there is a definitive reason that you can't do it you should let them know and let them make the decision.
Has anyone else noticed that Aspergers and Autism as well to some extent has become a joke to an awful lot of people, it seem to be everywhere.

There are not many foods that I like there are very few foods I can eat, mostly because of the texture. The only foods that have never changed are chocolate and cucumber. Everyone is always just saying just try it or make yourself eat it but I physically cannot, it makes me shivery to think about it...

We don't do Thanksgiving here, but this is what I do at Christmas- Have what I want for my meal. Last year I had pitta bread and hummus, as long as you're at the table that is what counts apparently. Take things to the table to distract/amuse/keep yourself calm. Be it toys, pen and paper to doodle w...

My godmother is a educational psychologist and the way she described it to me was that when they are diagnosing someone its like putting a jigsaw puzzle together, to receive a diagnosis for example of aspergers 21 pieces have to fit into the puzzle out of 27, anything inbetween 14 and 21 would be a ...

Try deep-fried battered Mars bars. And Guinness won't truly taste like Guinness unless tried in Ireland. And deep-fried ...

I too used to have obsessions such as these, serial killers, mass murders, diseases, Columbine, graves, currently antique medical books where all the knowledge is wrong and the illustrations just fascinate me. I always hid my more gruesome obsessions but now I know there really is nothing to worry a...

I was a self harmer and then went through four years of mental health treatment before finding out I was on the Autistic Spectrum. This article is confusing me though, it was titled "A Special Group of Self Harmers" and I can't work out whether its saying that some self harmers might actually have A...

This is a particular problem for anyone who has difficulty in understanding non-verbal communication, for exampl...

Thank you :) My mum has said she used to worry about me never really having proper friends, and I've been asking her about a couple of things to check I wasn't imagining them or even making them up and she said they happened. I also had a look at my secondary school reports which sound a bit more li...
