This time I'm being made to see a "liscensed clinical social worker". See, I'm in the military. Long story short, I had yet another episode of being late to work, had an "anxiety attack", and said some things that made my wife call my supervisor who in turn had me taken to the hospital. So I'm in re...

My autistic son is 2 1/2 and he's growing fast. The time is going to come pretty soon that he's going to have to ditch the diapers. What are the best ways to go about this? Any suggestions?

Absolutely. But my life is pretty high-stress as it is, with a large family and what-not. So its no surprise that a tiff with the wife, a sudden change of plans, or something else would send me to a meltdown quickly. This past weekend was Mother's Day. I'm horrible at giving gifts, making days speci...

Also, should we treat ourselves as seperate but equal to the NT community or should we be striving to integrate ourselves into the NT community? Does it depend on where on the spectrum one considers onself to be? Neither. We are superior to the mundies. We do not need to treat them as equals, as ev...

Aspies can empathize best if someone is experiencing something they themselves have experienced. For example, when my wife was pregnant, I had trouble empathizing with her because I simply can't relate; more often than not, I was irritated than sympathetic. Isn't that horrible? But if I see my sons'...

Dumb = unable to speak. This is its original meaning. It was later bastardized as meaning "stupid".

Reference point = experience to reference, draw upon, etc. Going into something new blind apparently bothers him.

Got Mario Kart Wii. Love it! I don't know why all the snotty critics say its better without the wheel. The wheel works well, IMO. They're just embarrassed.

Wow. She'd say that right in front of you, huh? While that can be taken as pretty rude, and she definitely is not the one to decide what you do or don't understand, her actions serve to both let you know that she is accepting of your condition (that its real, and you are impaired to a degree) and to...

Sometimes I don't think my wife generally believes I'm truly upset over something because I don't cry about it. And we're talking detrimental, save-or-break-our-marriage stuff that most may be moved to tears over.

Oh most definitely! I owe much of my stronger personality traits to the Army and my experiences therein. I recommend it to just about anyone.

I LOVE this thing! I got Mario Kart and its fun as hell. Its a shame its only standard resolution - on my 55" HDTV it doesn't look nearly as sharp as it would on my 29" standard def. Kinda funny. But what it likes in resulotion (and polygon count, from what I can see its not much better than last ge...

The majority NT society has concluded that becoming too excited about anything other than sports, sex, or financial success is socially unacceptable. Well, you forgot sh***y mainstream ANYTHING (music, movies, tv, etc). If you're interests are obscure and aren't easily marketed to, you're useless t...
