Films from David Lynch, Michel Gondry and Charlie Kaufman. I'm also a fan of early European surrealist cinema.
I find 'normal' films (such as teen movies or romantic comedies) much more bizarre to analyze than movies that are treated as art. |

| Do you mean music that makes you depressed or do you mean cathartically melancholy music? Big difference imo. Music that makes me depressed would be intellectually and ethically vacant radio pop. Recently discovered: Mr Bungle.
When it comes to 'official' best of lists (aka Pitchfork/Rolling Stone), I think The Mars Volta are horrendously underrepresented.
Both bands have albums that have reached into my 'Better than Dark Side of the Moon' zone. |
