What in your opinion are the best kind of jobs for people with aspergers. I know we're all different but are there any in particular that stand out? I believe this to be the wrong question to be asking. What would be the best job for someone with aspergers depends solely on that individual's partic...

Hey everyone! I've got an update on this case. Allen Grabe has just been found guilty of first degree murder and child abuse resulting in death. He is facing a mandatory life sentence without parole. http://www.gjsentinel.com/breaking/articles/jury-grabe-guilty/ I'm hoping that this is an indication...

No, that is definitely not true. The association of "leaky gut syndrome" and autism was part of 'Dr.' Andrew Wakefield's discredited hypothesis that the MMR vaccine causes autism. In reality it has not been shown that gastrointestinal problems are any more common in those with autism than neurotypic...

Why are there always people wondering about whether or not fictional characters have AS? Unless these characters were written deliberately to have AS, they are NOT aspies. Geez. Seconded. Fictional characters, being non-existent in reality, do not have anything unless it is specifically written int...

Irishaspie, what you described sounds a lot like sleep paralysis. I have experienced this myself a few times when I was younger. Although it may be frightening, it is usually harmless.

Well, you really have to question how high-functioning those adults in the special were. "Stim noises"? I know quite a few AS adults, and I've never heard them make noises when they stim (most of them DON'T stim in a noticeable way). Whenever I hear about people with AS making noise, it's ALWAYS yo...

Part of endocrine function analysis involves primary (actual organ) and secondary (pituitary). TSH (secondary) has historically been considered the most sensitive test for abnormalities. At my hospital usually thyroxine and free T4 are measured. T3 is measured sometimes, and seems to be increasing ...

Of course, most people don't give a sh** what we say. No they don't. As far as most people are concerned, we're all "ret*d" or minors who have no right to make their own decisions and there's no such thing as an emancipated autistic adult. We don't know what is "right" for us and we make poor decis...

The hell with that, man. That bill has got it all wrong. We don't need "intervention" or ABA or anything like that. And forcing the insurance companies to pay for quack treatments will only increase the cost of insurance for everyone. Everything else seem to be oriented towards parents instead of th...

Well the bottom line here is that the OP is making a couple of (incorrect) assumptions about aspies wanting to be cured: 1. That everyone wants to live the same kind of life that he wants. Everyone has their own thoughts and feelings about what they want out of life. Not everyone wants to get marrie...

You can also try changing your SSID and disabling SSID broadcasting. Some routers also support MAC address filtering where you can control what computers ca... |

And everyone should realize that many parents who would abort an autistic child would probably be the same parents who think about murdering (or actually murder... |
