People scraping their fingernails on paper.

I can relate to what you are saying, my real identity is something that I don’t think anybody sees. The identity that people do see is carefully constructed, not to fit in but as a means of protection. My real identity is defined by my obsessions, if it wasn’t for them I do not think that I would ha...

Social isolation – It would not be so bad if I didn’t want friends or anything, friends are just another thing that I want but cannot have. Lack of independence – I hate having to rely on other people for anything, but having to rely on my family for things that to them is no big deal, things that a...

Things I would do: 1. Buy a Dallas Mavericks season ticket 2. Buy a house in Dallas, Texas, that had a cinema, basketball court and a huge playroom 3. Buy a house for my family 4. Set up my dream business, a kind of sheltered accomdation for people on the spectrum 5. Go travelling across America and...

Megz, that sounds like a interesting idea.
Just out of curiosity, where exactly in Texas are you from?
It's kind of freaky, in a good way that is, that you are from/live in Texas, since I actually plan to move to Texas as part of my idea/plan.

I don't want to share too many details yet (I don't want to jinx it or anything) but I have a lead on a foundation that could potentially help with the funding.

I had an idea about a kind of supported living situation for people on the spectrum; this idea came partly from some things I’ve read here on WP and partly from the experiences of me and my brother. I’m working on a plan to make my idea a reality, but before I did that I wanted to hear what other pe...

Primary school - some acquaintances, 1 person who I thought was my friend but was not and no real friends. High School - 7, only 1 of those I spent time with outside of school and still talk to now. If teachers count then 11. College - again some aquaintances but no-one I would consider a friend. An...

Not sure where to post this, so if this is the wrong place then my apologies. Anyway, this is partly a rant and partly me asking for some advice on my situation. Lately I’ve been getting the feeling that my social worker, despite me trying to educate her still does not really understand AS and how i...

I started going to a social group last year and it's one of the few places I feel comfortable, it's also one of the few times I actually leave the house.
