I do not qualify or tag myself as being "eccentric", I think I am quite normal.
But people sure qualify me as being an "oddball" and being "original". |

| I LOVE being alone but always end up yearning it. I hate social gatherings, I hate chit-chat, I hate people telling me their problems and I hate people showing off. I have a family, it is hard being alone but I wouldn't spend time away from my kid for too long either. I'm on the phone and email all ... |

I got diagnosed a few weeks ago at 36 y.o.
So it's never too late.....
And yeah, cancer and AS is two different things: I was relieved when I knew I have AS, not so when I knew I had cancer a few years ago.
I definitely didn't want to throw a party. |

| The one that as soon as you say the word "autistic", everyone thinks you're a ret*d. The math/geek connection. I suck at maths. The "no humour" theme, I love sarcasm, black humour and irony. The "no eye contact", I have more than average eye contact with the people around me.... maybe a little too m... |

Plus, you can explain to the ignorant masses what AS is.
Unfortunately, Autism has a lot of negative meaning.
People think autistics are ret*ds.
