I have an acquaintance who is being trained to come and help in the situation that the loved one doesn't want to let go of the deceased. I should say, he and his service dog . In an...

I really think that this will be a bad idea if put into practice... what are your thoughts? Yes, I think that adding wandering to the diagnosis criteria would be a very bad thing! When my son was about 4 years old, he would walk out of a situation he could not bear. For instance when I would be tal...

Throughout my life, I have been known to pick up some stims and drop others. For instance, my current 'primary stim', which is pacing, was only picked up around 2007. Other examples would include rocking, which I did quite frequently when I was at primary school but only began doing again in recent...

I often don't know what to say or how to say things because I am always afraid of coming off wrong. Like today I called my cousin to tell her she didn't need to come anymore to watch my baby. I had in mind "I don't need you anymore" but I was afraid that would sound rude so I was thinking in my hea...

What a thrill to read all those hateful noises.... What recognition! I also hate the noises of: -drilling drills and sawing chainsaws -every machinery the hygienist and the dentist use, especially when I am in the waiting room -speeding mopeds (cuts like knives in my ears) -someone talking on the ph...

I hate the sound of guitars and pianos. I can listen to them recorded just fine, but get them anywhere near me and the sound is just too sharp. Recorded or not, I cannot stand the sound of a clavecimbel or a trumpet. These are just wrong sounds... And folks singing off tune.... or what about people...

I live in an older high-rise condo. There are constant repairs and renovations going on here Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm. The sawing, drilling, hammering, etc....is the aural equivalent of chinese water torture. I wear eagplugs constantly when i'm here during those hours. They help....but only margi...

Hi Euippe, How confusing and frustrating that must be for you! I sometimes get an overwhelming and confusing set of emotions. Then I know (I have learned) that I need to get out of the situation instantly. But, unlike you, I do know why it happens...: too much on my plate (people, obligations, work,...
