I basically never drink tap water. I prefer water with fizz in it, rather than "flat" water. and I even notice a difference in taste in the various bottled waters; some I don't like. My favorite at the moment is Apolinaris.

I believe it was Tony Atwood who said that Aspies often find themselves in jobs that they are overqualified to do, or jobs that aren't challenging enough for their skill level, due to lack of social skills. This makes sense, since so much seems to be reliant on "networking"- (something I can't do at...

Oh thanks, untilwereturn! I wrote that ages ago, and thought no one had noticed.

I agree about the "latest fads" thing. Not only do I not follow them, but I'm usually not even aware of what they are! (This applied even when I was young).

Bummer that I leave Europe 10 days before autscape. Autreat seems a tad expensive. I can travel in Europe for a fraction of what they charge. I'm hypersensitive but I still can deal with up to 14 people dorms fine, first time out alone. I'm more worried about bothering other people. We should have ...

Actually, it would be really nice to have another small Aspie meetup, like in Avignon. Hey- didn't we say we were going to have a meetup in Morocco? We did, but nobody went on to organize it. Typical Aspies! Executive functioning, ha. Maybe we should try to organize it in the next year?...

It would have been nice to see you again too. Perhaps we could meet on this side of the pond some time? No need to cross the Atlantic for that. That would be nice. My son is off dairy, gluten, and soy, and is basically low carb as well. Makes him less irritable. Much. This sounds a lot like my diet, except I eat some raw dairy, and use cream occasionally- (I can only get that pasteurized)- as a condiment. I also feel less irritable, less depressed, more happy...

What specifically has gotten better? I'm just curious, this is for my own research purposes.

Hi KenG! How are you? Surviving, thanks. And yourself? Same, "surviving". Only to Autscape, on this side of the pond. Oh too bad, it would have been nice to see you again. Part of the fun in Avignon was having endless chats, in a charming town, while eating(*), drinking wine or watching the landsca...

I think there are many reasons, and it depends a lot on what you hope to get out of posting on here. For me, I am/was actually looking for a level of connection, feeling less alone. This has worked to a degree, in a similar way that reading a book can make you feel less alone - you sometimes see yo...

My second child and I are lactose intolerant, so we have low milk consumption. Fermented foods like yogurt and cheese are usually okay, and small doses of cooked milk or ice cream. We've been trying to move toward a "whole foods" diet this year. My New Year's resolution and all. Not because of auti...

This place isn't for everyone. I have a feeling I'm a bit of an outsider myself here because the general attitude here is "you're different, deal with it" but I want to learn to work around my differences. Not everyone with AS feels like they're one of the community. In fact, I barely feel that way...

Hi KenG! How are you? It's been a long time. (Avignon, remember?)

I'll be in America during Autreat, so maybe I might try to come.....we'll see, don't know yet. Are you going? I've never been to one of these *big events*, but Avignon was fun. I'd like to have that kind of experience again.

Nope - As with ASDMommy, my son has a limited diet and if I were to try and eliminate gluten, he would read this as some form of punishment. Once he is older and we can discuss and decide as a family, I will happily help him. Also, there doesn't seem to be any physical evidence (i.e. IBS etc) that ...
