My son's psych says that she doesn't think he is aspie because he is too sensitive with his sister, gives in to her, etc. He does have a previous dx but she now thinks he just has adhd. I'm not so sure about that, and honestly I don't want to change it because he is finally getting the services he n...

My problem with labels is that there can be lots of them to try to make him resemble NT child but he is not NT nor he can be that. Labels aren't there to make kids seem NT. I'm not sure how that would be possible... They can help with identifying strengths and weaknesses, and to be aware of issues ...

You don't have to have him diagnosed. The school can give him services because he has motor delays, speech delays, behavior problems, learning problems, etc. He doesn't need to have a "label". Some people choose to have a clear diagnosis anyway. We chose to do it so the people in his life could unde...

I don't know about fevers specifically, but I can tell you my son (AS) has always been calm and well behaved when he's sick. And i don't mean in a lethargic not feeling well kind of way, but he's seems "normal". And then he'll puke and something and I realize he's sick. (Because he doesn't tell me a...

You may call it a fallacy, but it's how i feel. Don't negate other people's feelings as wrong.

You know, if you came here to be inflammatory and insult people, congrats. Of course I wouldn't be happy if ANY of my kids, AS or not stayed at home and lived off of the government. And I would hope that I raised them well enough that they would want to get a job. My comment was actually rega...

Those kids just sound like brats, thats just bad parenting. I have one Aspie and he behaves about as well as my older son, who is NT and his sister, who is 7 and also NT. :D while most of us grow into disappointing misfits and all-round failures... My kids, aspie or not, will never be a failure. As...

We had the Fragile X test done but haven't had any further testing. I don't think we will go any further with that, as we are done with having babies and he is what he is, no matter what the testing says. More than likely he is just a product of my ADHD self and my husband's OCD. *Came back to...

My son was diagnosed ADHD at 7, and I felt like it didn't completely fit. 2.5 years later, we have a clear diagnosis, which is AS/ADHD comorbid. He also freaked out if anyone touched his train tracks or engines and watched Thomas videos obsessively. Then in Kindergarten, he would curl up on the floo...

What characterizes them is that the principles of either psychiatry or neurology are unable to fully encapsulate these disorders, and the neuropsychiatric approach is needed for their... |
