*Sighs* Here we go again.........bullying. You would think we would know how to handle it by now, but it seems as the kids get older, the bullying gets more intense and personal. My son got into a fight at school yesterday. He was in gym class, and this kid behind him shoved him into the trashcans a...

jcmom, Thanks for your reply. I have not been able to be on the computer for awhile, but I wanted you to know I love some of the ideas you use with your son, and will try those with my son. I do have a question. He has this project for career day that he has to do, and he wants to be a video game de...

Wow! That is great advice on how to find out! Your parents sound like very wonderful people! I'll have to try that with my son and see if I get any results, especially in the nonconfrontational way! :D

Speaking as an aspie voted most disorganized in her graduating class - I am still "differently organized" and quite sucessful. My brain works differently from most NTs. I think in pictures and could be perfectly happy doing work or research in my mind. Had no idea that writing it down was important...

Okay, I can accept some critizism here. First off, there is more to this story than I have typed here. This kid has been hanging around since last May, and this is the first time I have gone off on him. I have tried to teach my son to stand up for himself, and not let people take advantage of him, b...

Okay, I have to vent here.............   My son has this friend, if you even want to call him that, that is a control freak. He's the gang leader (there are four of them, my son included) and whenever one of the others doesn't want to do what the leader does, he makes fun of them ...

Hello All!! Sorry I have not posted lately, as I have been crazy busy!! I also have a younger daughter in second grade, and she now has more homework than she did last year, though it's a walk in the park compared to her brother's homework! Then there's the TSS and the BT, along with the numerous Dr...

I just thought of something else. When my son was in third grade, he played baseball. He wasn't very good at it, but he tried. He played outfield, and I can remember one game in particular where he was spacey when the ball was coming towards him (the other team had hit a pop up ball) and at the last...

LOL........I have those problems also. He is so disorganized that he loses EVERYTHING! I had an IEP meeting with his teachers today, so we are going to work on that. If he could just keep up with his stuff he could do so much better!

Oh my! He is very, very slow, and walks heavy if that makes any sense. He just looks like he is weighted down with so much of something when he walks. He is always the last student out of the building at the end of the day (I found that out today by his IEP teacher) and he always walks with his head...

Wow! My son will sometimes (alot of times) take until he gets home from school until his bedtime to get his homework done, and then some of the time it is not even completed! I'm sure the school psyche will get you headed in the right direction. That is how my son started to receive his services, wa...

At first he didn't want one, was embarrassed to have someone "follow him around", but it turned out to be a good thing for him. She just observes him and if he gets off task and has to be redirected, she will quietly get his attention back on track again. She sits near him so the class is not disrup...

Hi! You are so not alone in this! Your son sounds alot like my son, but there is hope and things will get better! I may have missed, but how old is your son? Mine is 14 and we just found out he has AS this past May. We have him on state medical aid because of his disability, so they pay for all of h...

My son, who is now in 8th grade, also has both of those problems. His handwriting is atrocious! I make him write in cursive because at least you can read it better than the printing. He also walks around with his shoes untied. He ties them, or tries to, but for some reason they don't stay tied and w...
