It has been suggested I suffer from social anxiety, social phobia and a stress disorder. I thought I was OK until they explained thats why I do A,B and C behaviours. I do hate the constant looping thoughts, annalysing and re-annalysing negative events looking for understanding and reasons. Re-creati...

All through my life I have experience Deja Vu at different times. It is an unnerving feeling, like everything slows d...

What you say is true to an extent for many on the spectrum. However, I believe most people with Neurodevelopmental sequelaes would struggle in life like auties and aspies. If you struggle with comprehending social ettiquette and behaviour the general community will judge and punish you harshly. Will...

Approx two months ago I joined a charasmatic church(Pentecostal) called Hillsong. Always been agnostic until I took a leap of faith. I prefer to experience things personally and reject gossip/intolerence. I love the christian rock music and the Bible gives me rules, guidance and structure for the fi...

As I drifted through high school and behaviour deterioated, less friends, studies went down, some people comment they thought I turned real strange after being knocked out in a Rugby league match. The MRI showed no damage from my head injury, I was simply trying to find my place, act like everyone e...

My stepson also gravitates to the teacher but not for the same reasons as kids with AS. He gravitates towards younger children and adults because his peers are more likely to judge him. It is not so he can have an intellectual conversation (he likes to talk about objects), it is because he knows th...

I can understand your distress at their mis-representation of Aspergers. The story was obviously fiction! Some writers are just morons. lol As far as crimminal acts by people whether they are AS,HFA,BP,SCHIZOPHRENIC, non ASD etc, its all about mens rea. Whether the persons intentions were to steal, ...

Interested to know if anyone has completed neuropsychological testing and the report comments that you have below average emotion recognition? My testing was done by a third party. My psychologist recieved the report explained which test this involved and what the result meant, I was surprised! Thou...

Believe I made a similar error in observation as you Greentea. However, I thought I was incorrectly dx with AS because most at WP did not think or behave as I would. My treating psychologist explained the differences. TOM is the culprit in my case, I find it extremely diificult to understand or imag...

I understand what you are implying Aspieconfirmed and your frustrations. 1/ I'm annoyed everytime a spouse enters an AS forum and describes her husband as the biggest A-hole, this and that, because he has Aspergers. Eventually we find out he is not diagnosed with any ASD. 2/ The Clinical psychologis...

I wouldn't apply this rule to all. Peter Pan emerges from within when I'm overstimulated/ stressed mainly in social situations and I make many poor decisions.

Yes, all the time. Doctors confuse me the worst, at times they avoid giving definite answers and contradict each other. People have often told me I seek reassurance all the time. Most times I'm not quite sure if I have done something wrong or acted inappropriate unless someone is direct with me, the...

I also get 'beauty shock' much of the time. I will stare at people who m...

I totally understand your quest for clarity and answers to questions. Go through with the neuropsychological testing and a diagnoses. It may not be AS or it may, however knowing your cognitive abilities and psychology will assist in treatment options. bhetti has made some important observations via ...
