It wasn't Asperger's itself they were making fun of it.

It was a pronunciation of the name and more of a stab against the autism 'epidemic' and vaccinations.

It wasn't a good episode, regardless.

me too. they're my favourites so I'm rereading the second book. Who's your favourite character? I like Steerpike but also Fuchsia and the Doctor. At first I didn't like Titus but now I think I can relate to him.

There have been instances where I would only accept one word of greeting/starting a conversation from certain people. If they said anything other than that form of hello it was upsetting.

I cannot think of anything else other I dislike being called "dear" and such.

I don't know what my personality type is. I've always been given differing results it seems and the letters I'd choose for myself don't match up to the descriptions of such a person that I find.

I find the task of defining myself difficult enough. I always feel like everything or nothing.

My main issue is tactile.

'I didn't hurt you! I barely touched you!' etc.

Barely touching is the worst type.

I wouldn't consider Wii Fit a method to losing weight but rather a tool to keep track of such and for general calisthenics.

I do not relate to many of the scenarios depicted. People seem to frequently think my issues are related to social phobia when I do not think they are at all. I am much more aware in such situations than I used to be so I am probably at risk for developing it. I now have the notion that I am suppose...

It says that it could result in loss of recess, not that every time it will. I assume it'd be from an excessive nature.

But the whole thing makes me sad.

mild - the type that could skate by without support, who don't believe it impairs them.
moderate - typical Asperger's
severe - needs a lot of support, very noticeable, etc.

Skimming this thread will obviously tell one that it can be a good or bad experience, and that there's no way to know except for trying it with the possible risks in mind. The medication I'm on made me feel terrible for a whole month, but large benefits after that and over time. The first week I was...

Dois it bother you when people walk behind you? Yes,.... soesnt that bother tons of people though? To the extent where they start walking funny because they can't concentrate enough on it? I don't think so. The not liking to be touched.... isnt that a ton of people as well? Being touched feels like...

All my interests seem stupid to me when I first get them. It just seems like my brain gets stuck and so fixates on something that I had just saw or thought about. It's not healthy to think them stupid though. Just embrace them. (To counter the window thing, I've been obsessed with doors for a time l...

I think that's just OCD dear. That's a you thing. Kissing is a pretty natural thing and my boyfriend is an aspie and he loves kissing, though I think the amount of kissing, and type goes hand in hand with various sex drives too. I'd imagine everyone is different. My sister and her bf never make out...

Asperger's is pretty much the default a lot of the time for older kids and up. If he were younger, he'd probably get PDD-NOS or autism. People don't think of people beyond young children as being autistic. I don't know why. Most people with Asperger's fit HFA criteria.

Yes. I often wish I were deaf. I wish I were really sick so I would feel justified in feeling bad often. I sometimes wish for more severe autism so I can feel disconnected from words and people-things.
