Guys, I know its horrible. I hated every day of high school. But sooner or later its over, and the life gets better. To quote Penny Arcade, "Out there, we run sh**." Someone bullies/assaults you? You have the law on your side. You can get restraining orders against people. What's even better is that...

I'm glad my parents are in different provinces now, because when they're together all they talk about is how the economy is going downhill, people are going to be carting around wheelbarrows full of money to buy a loaf of bread, there will be riots in the streets, most of the people in the world wi...

Why does God give someone a condition like aspergers and then when they screw up hold them at fault for making "judgements" and being bitter? Which answer would make you feel better? That's really what matters. So umm, all of the preceding 7 pages of answers - they're all personal truths. Sounds li...

I absolutely agree that happiness can't always be attained by outside sources. However for me not having desires is equally fatal. The idea that happiness is relative isn't a comforting one to me. If I'm feeling particularly empty and I can't find any external cause for the pain then this realizati...

100% in agreement with you, Doc - I'm glad to hear someone else voice my thoughts. Happiness is a choice, always. Its a state of mind, and has nothing to do with getting what you want and all about appreciating what you have. It sounds trite and stupid until you realise it for yourself - then it ma...

Challenges don't make people happy or sad; it's how people deal with those challenges mentally that decide it. It's one's own choice to be happy or sad about how something turns out. Basically, you take something as you chose to take it. For instance, seeing all the "woe is me" crap on these forums...

Ultimately, being successful means you have a greater chance of passing on your genes. Ever seen the film "Idiocracy"? :) How do you explain that the poorest, least succesful are the ones who *generally* are having the most children? We regularly get stories of trailer-trash types who are illiterat...

If society didn't reward winners than many people wouldn't have the motivation to work hard and contribute. Some altruistic people may still contribute just for the intrinsic value. Nevertheless, a person should be rewarded for the amount of effort they put in, not the abilities they are born with....

Its not an autistic trait - just an asocial one. People try to be better and achieve more than people around them because its natural selection. Ultimately, being successful means you have a greater chance of passing on your genes. You have an interesting choice of words, though. You claim to be unc...

He is like a guy who says, all I did was light a cigarette in a no smoking zone, and claim to not be r... |

Well, I can't help you with figuring out how to not say weird stuff or not respond to some internal scripted scenario that isn't actually taking place in real life, unfortunately. I have no idea how not to myself. I answer questions that were never asked, and ask questions that don't logically fit ...
