The interest I developped throughout my life is... linguistics ! It's not so unusual but people tend to consider that I am far more interested in it than most people. I also learned things about politics during my adolescence and was interested in philosophy and "mature" subjects. However... I still...

Well, I see you are from Spain (or at least live in Spain, if you are not a native speaker, my story will be pointless). I am French and I have tried to learn Spanish but always fail with the structure because it is too close to French and Latin and I always confuse them. English is easier for me be...

Why do people go further into their joke when you did not get it at first and then moan about the fact that you did not get it and they felt stupid because you answered literaly to them ? Or, you get their joke, and it wasn't funny, and they still try to explain it to you. They probably felt insult...

I have to admit that I do not see anything in eyes. They all look the same to me (apart from their shape and colour). I am pretty sure that if we put pictures of our eyes when we are making faces or smiling, etc, they would look totally different.

I agree, most children take thing literaly because they do not have enough vocabulary or experience with language to understand the context and the meaning of the phrase used. Some may hide the fact that they take things literaly, I did. When I was 8, my uncle said we were going to stay up all night...

It happened to me a lot when I was in secondary school during speaking tests. It also happened to a man I've met, because he has a lazy eye and avoid making eye contact since it makes it worse. I think you should remind them that you have AS if you have a diagnosis, they should take that into consid...

Why do people go further into their joke when you did not get it at first and then moan about the fact that you did not get it and they felt stupid because you answered literaly to them ? (And why do they feel stupid when you are obviously the one who was not smart enough to get it ?). Why does it m...

What a great video ! Mostly because I love cats, I have to admit it. Always had cats, I feel like I have been raised by them. They are really nice animals, I used to be obsessed with cats and had dozen of books about them, learned their body language (mostly the eye thing) and would pretend I was a ...

Hello, I have read that one of the fact which made it harder to diagnose Asperger's Syndrome in girls was that they tend to have a better social life than boys, especially in primary school. Apparently, some AS girl may have friends when they are young but become socially impaired when the social li...

I think it's a great parody of the way autistic people are portrayed by the media and it shows the way people see those who have a disorder. It reminds me of their videos about a kid who won a spelling contest.

Do not confuse the concept of 'love' - [it is only a concept] with lust. Lust is derived from the desire to procreate and is inherent within our genetics. The emotional attachment associated with lust is not superficial but it is just as arbitrary. It is not useful to think of it as anything else. ...

It has been discussed in another thread, it seems to ...

... nor do I agree with my grandmother who claims that one is in love everytime they are attracted to someone. I would be inclined to agree with you. However, maybe she only means to be saying that particular attraction actually could take a turn *into* true love. No, she definitely meant that "I a...

I do not have AS, only been diagnosed with dyspraxia for now but have been "suffering" from this for years. It was actually one of the reasons why they wanted me to see a psychologist when I was in nursery school. Daydreaming excessively in a way that is often compared to an addiction. This excessiv...
