It sounds like he's been hit harder by the loss of his job than he cares or is able to admit. In a good moment or at least a moment where you're talking together and not in a negative way. Ask him very directly but gently if this is the case. Good luck.

Hi - I've decided to look for a girlfriend, new year, new start and all that. I'm a youthful 40. tall (6ft 3in), no kids, have a successful career in media, said to be handsome (I can happily send you a pic if you Message me so you can make your own mind up). Was diagnosed with AS last June. I have ...

I suppose I've taken a lot of the blame for failed relationships and one failed marriage upon myself. There was always a pattern developing where I showed almost levels of infatuation from the outset and then with time this waned and I'd withdraw more and more into myself or my interests. Combined w...

I can do it but it makes it much harder for me to concentrate on what I'm trying to say. So, I tend to look away when talking but look at the person when they're talking and it's not my turn to speak.

Simply peace of mind. An online diagnosis wasn't good enough for me because there was always that lingering thought of 'hmm, but what if I'm just a bit of a miserable git who doesn't like socialising that much and was just an awkward kid at school who didn't really have many friends was very bookish...

I can understand why people with AS suffer from anxiety, in terms of a simple reaction to any number of given situations (social or otherwise) or stimuli. But why depression? The reason I ask is I've only recently been diagnosed with AS yet have had bouts of depression throughout my adult life and ...

At some point in my life I want to try LSD, I just don't want the risks that go with it... Someday maybe, but I probably won't ever bother. It's not that great to be honest, very weird but so what (tried it a few times when I was at art school many years ago). The risks are probably no greater than...

I tried smoking crack-cocaine about 17 years ago, I smoked it twice (and never since) just to make sure. As at the time the media was going crazy saying things like 'ONE PUFF AND YOU'RE HOOKED FOR LIFE'. I didn't believe them and wanted to put it to the test. They were full of s**t.

Saying as I see and letting rude or incompetent people know they are rude or incompetent has got me fired at least twice, and put on review or report more than a few times. So, I guess it's safe to say I don't really get or do office politics, they suck s**t through a poo straw. However, I am gradua...

I have a wife who is bipolar and I learned many years ago not to give a rat's ass what psychiatrists think. Most of them are idiots and no two of them can agree what day of the week it is. As for myself I am a baby boomer and got into the system at the age of eight in the mid '50's. At that time As...

This has great resonance.
