I think the children, even teenagers, will like the dog. :D In truth, it might be a little distracting for them— at first. But as a person with a service animal, I’m confident you have skills in briefly and matter-of-factly explaining the job of this dog. And you can translate this to age-appropriat...

In addition to being autistic sopranos, we are also both Asian American, we love our acrylic nails and share similar quirky fashion sense. And often it’s the seemingly small things [which are really not that small in reality! :D ] that provides like two-thirds of the back-and-forth of a friendship.

I remember an old movie about a UK school. And the regular teacher was teaching boys’ Phys. Ed., and the assignment was to run up to a pommel horse type thing, plant your hands on it and launch yourself, and then land with both feet on the mat, with the teacher spotting you. One, the teacher’s not t...

I don't think sport needs to be funded or universally expected of all students. I don't think kids should be forced into it, even in Phys Ed. I think they should learn basic fitness but beyond that, join community teams. I even have a problem with typical Phys Ed. It’s this high stakes thing in whi...

. . . they sent a teacher who used to teach at my middle school because they thought she knew me better. . . This may have also had elements of a betrayal or “a pounce.” She may have even argued with them when they first asked her. And the school official may have said, Oh, you know him better, it ...

Here’s retired quarterback Brett Favre saying kids should wait till age 14 to play tackle football. And this would get the lion’s share of what I’m talking about.

Brett appears in an ad for the Concussion Legacy Foundation.

In the UK rugby in school is mandatory pretty much. I would say unless played professionally it should be acceptable at any age.

I guess technically, you have choices of other sports but not really? Or the social disapproval is too widespread. Is it something like this?

When I began my high school career on August 22nd or August 29th, 1977, or whatever the heck date it was that we started . . . The pep rallies were at first mandatory? ! ? Yes, they were! :P And then they went to a system in which you could choose between the pep rally and study hall. Talk about a “...

If Ukraine lets Russia "save face," it would be equivalent to allowing Hitler to "save face" via the Munich Pact of 1938. Yes, it was a bad deal. And therefore, for the 80+ years since and perhaps for the next 100 years, I suppose we must feel (?) duty-bound or similar to view a...

Notice that we’re taking a page from the rightwing blogsphere. Even though I started my OP with “Let me make it clear, moral right sides with Ukraine. . . , ” that is viewed as nowhere near good enough. Instead, many posts are striving to outdo each other with how anti-Putin we are. Challenge— Prepa...

Let me make it clear, moral right sides with Ukraine. Russia was very much in the wrong to invade, and Ukraine had every right to defend itself and to get weapons from the West. But really advanced poker play, at this point, might involve Ukraine giving Russia an out. I mean, from the Russia perspec...
