Hi, Welcome to Wrong Planet! :jester: Yes, on the face of things, you certainly sound like you have spectrum traits. First off, please don’t go cold turkey on any medication. Although it sounds like you have doubts about the schizophrenia diagnosis from almost a decade ago, so probably aren’t taking...

It’s sounds like the estate agent was the one who had a conflict of interest and did something unethical. Regarding the neighbor who’s the potential friend, any way you might be able to do a zen turnaround and be bemused by it? And when it feels right, maybe just oh so casually say, I think you’re _...

The hospital psychologist confirmed her son had autistic traits, before suggesting that she should spend more time playing with Minh, as if increased interaction and socialisation would address his autistic issues. Thanks for posting this. Well, if the media misrepresentation is anything like this ...

I’m against the death penalty in large because it makes the whole situation higher stakes in which the prosecutors are even more motivated to “win.” Clarence Brandley was convicted of a 1980 murder in Texas. About ten years later, he was released, basically due to actual innocence. And yes, there wa...

Since it’s not a member of your own family, I think that gives you a broad middle range it’s which it’s just fine to send condolences, say anywhere between 3 and 10 days maybe more. Something sincere and heartfelt, also something simple and straightforward. Perhaps something like: ‘I send my thought...

Now, my facts may take me to different conclusions. For example, I lean toward Asian tiger, mixed economies. Plus, I’m pretty open-minded toward ownership-society versions of Universal Income, but that’s perhaps a topic for another thread. At least I hope it’s fact-based on my part. At times, sure, ...

He generally just takes a strong libertarian position.

I just wish the economy was healthier and produced a greater variety of good jobs.

And I don’t mean just during COVID times, I mean during regular times! :fish:

Honestly, this is just too much work. I suppose this is manageable for someone who has applied to only a few jobs and doesn't have issues with phone calls, but given the low response rate of employers, one has to send out a zillion resumes. Maybe things are better in places where there isn't so muc...

. . In one job, I was a stock clerk, but I also had to help customers a lot, often at night, and in a supermarket. I struggled with the customer service part, which led to a deterioration in the performance of my other duties at that job, and then termination. . Walmart employees just don’t practic...

My sister is a career advisor. She says to apply as long as you meet 40% of the listed qualifications - including at least two of the first three duties listed (priorities are normally listed first). . . I think this is very good advice. Focus on the duties listed first because these are the priori...

These social NTs spend all this time keeping tabs and evaluating each other. The answer he was looking for was probably something along the lines of "the neighbor seems nice so far." After that, the subject would've likely changed. I think both are most probably true. Yes, a nondescript a...

Wow. As the above very recent article from 18 July 2020 shows, this problem is still ongoing. And the current COVID-19 would seem to be yet one more reason why we want to get someone out of institutional living and into small group living or into supported living in their own apartment and/or with f...

. . . I would give my son a Kevlar jockstrap to protect the family jewels. A quick search on Amazon showed this type of product is already being built by a company called Nutshellz (sounds like an appropriate name). They make both adult and children sizes. They have two models – the first is made w...

I’m very sorry you were beat up. :( That was wrong for something as harmless and personal as echolalia. Just like with stimming, a lot of it is finding clever and low-key ways to redirect. For example, in a classroom setting, can you substitute writing for speaking? And then you might quickly skim t...
