Well, selfish I agree. He is well walked, just got into a bad habit. I was just now talking to next door and they're moving to a new town in 3 weeks, so their son can have more help with childcare off family. That buys me time to help the dog, before the next lot of neighbours move in, but I reckon ...

I DO feel manipulated, but as I'm fond of the dog, that would be too hard. He deserves a good home too, which he more or less has. I feel conned and abandoned, which sounds over dramatic, but hey. Maybe the relationship, as it were, is well and truly over.

I would have liked to have been a victorian gentleman of independent means, so I could do pretty much what I liked and spend as much time as I wanted pursuing scientific interests.

Here's the outline; My partner of 4 years got a dog between us 18 months ago, we live a mile apart, but I was to look after him for the 3 nights in 9 when she was on the night shift and she has him the rest of the time. Almost right from the start I felt pushed out with the dog, I never got to hold ...

Hi, (I've been off this forum for a bit) What are your views on the responsibility of both parents to support their children? Would you acknowledge that upon separation, one party, usually the parent with care (PWC) is left financially disadvantaged? They are also by default supporting the child by ...

I don't really like being touched at all, except when I am part of a couple, by my partner. Lots of people I work with touch my arm, or pat my shoulder, and I can swear I can literally feel their 'handprint' on my flesh for the rest of the day.

I ticked the 'very mild' box, because on the face of it, I look like I'm doing ok, got a job etc. My AS trips me up when I find myself in a social or otherwise situations where I haven't learned already what to do. I can't improvise socially at all. And more than that, if my routines are disrupted o...

Laura, I think your reaction then was quite understandable, and in the same situation I would have felt a bit deflated and probably kept my good news to myself., at least for a while. I'm glad that it all worked out though, and you ended up celebrating :) It just goes to show though, how messed up t...

Thanks Zena4!
I have learned how I can come across quite badly at times and although the gf was out of order, I was too. |

Thank you everyone, for your responses to my original post. We spoke yesterday about the whole episode and it was a largely neutral family matter that she wanted to talk about, no cheating or anything like that going on. I explained how anxious I had been over the whole 'kept in the dark' thing, and...

Thanks everyone for the replys so far. I do hope she isn't cheating, but we are meeting up in half an hour and I might find out, because I do intend to talk about it, but I am still so angry and icy and speechless that I wouldn't be able to broach it first. (mental note to self - must practice mindf...

It's quite controlling and almost cruel, IMO.

Yesterday at work, I got an email from my partner, who really hoped I would agree to go to Starbucks after work, because she had something she wanted to talk to me about. Immediately I went into panic mode, thinking someone was ill, I was in some kind of trouble, there was bad news etc etc. My mind ...

I really don't think you have done anything wrong. I continually make what amounts to minor faux pas, just like you and the cup of tea. My partner and I end up laughing about it, after a few niggles in the early days. In perspective, it's nothing, really, so I can't believe she left over that 8O As ...

I know what you mean, my diagnosis was by my own GP, but I still think it counts. I had a dx for auditory processing disorder conirmed by a hearing specialist, and discussed the results, among other things with my GP. He wanted to take me off my meds, 10mg escitalopram daily. I was anxious about thi...
