It's pretty annoying how hard they're trying to spin this. Cheney didn't shoot the guy, he "sprayed" him with "bird shot pellets". As if they were using BB guns or something. It's also apparently the other guy's fault for wandering into the kill zone.

That seems like a good price. Just make sure it's decent stuff - preferably no particle board and a brand name mattress.

What condition is your existing mattress in? If it's worn or not to your liking, definitely change it out. It's worth splurging a little on that considering you spend 1/3 of your life laying on it! Do shop around. Prices and quality vary widely. I got a comforter cover from Ikea a couple of years ag...

The ability to concentrate on a task completely is clearly a feature. It's just that in your case it's not fully optimized yet. Like any new feature, it needs some usability tweaks and such. In your case, it sounds like you need some way to record tasks and remind yourself to do them when required. ...

The Maxx rocks! I love shows that don't try too hard to explain everything. I hope they'll eventually release a good DVD copy of it some day. The copied from VHS one I got off Ebay is a bit lacking.

Thanks for the advice, all! I looked at a bunch of places yesterday with my agent (who I'm about 80% sure is an aspie, but I haven't asked him yet) and a couple of them would suit me. That's also a lot of really messed up houses! A couple more weeks of this and hopefully I can start looking at makin...

Thanks! I am looking into first time buyers' programs and such. Don't think I would qualify for anything else, not being a veteran or poor or a parent. I've read everything I can track down so I think I have the basics down, it's more about not knowing who to trust at this point. Like, is the realto...

I'm preparing to buy my first house and although everything seems to be coming together well, I'm a little freaked out. Can anyone here who's been through the process offer any tips on the whole process of picking and financing a house?

I'm 32. I found out about Asperger's about a year and a half ago. AS is so much of a part of who I am that I really can't imagine what my life would have been like without it. I wouldn't be the same person. I do wish I had known sooner, though. My outlook on life has improved dramatically in the las...

When my cat decided she wanted to go behind the couch I did a few things and eventually she got over it. 1) I covered the area in cardboard or otherwise blocked access to the carpet she liked there. 2) Sprayed the area with a citrus scented cleaner. Don't use anything with ammonia! 3) Switched to a ...

I've gotten caught up in lies at times myself. Mostly I did it as a way to avoid talking about something that was uncomfortable. I've gone away from that sort of thing for the most part. I certainly understand why it would make you uneasy. As for the rest - I'm not sure what you expect to find when ...

I Tivo'd it, so I was able to skip through the opening "chat" and get to the Autism portion. There was no real information presented - just the lady promoting the AutismSpeaks website, repeating the usual talk of how it's a growing epidemic that destroys families, how there's no proof that vaccines ...

I too am curious about these "brain based therapies" and drugs that were mentioned. It sounded like typical "fix the problem in 2 minutes" bs that these types of shows live on. Autism is not a curable disease, it's a permanent neurological difference. The kid is raging because he's in pain and the p...

I started drinking green tea at work a while back. I'd fill up a big mug with it and sip all day, if I ran out I'd refill the mug with hot water, using the same tea bag over again. I started having bad panic attacks in the afternoons, particularly towards the end of the week. I was seriously freakin...

I think it's good to start working once you're of legal age. Those menial jobs aren't just unsatisfying for us, they're that way for NTs as well. It's a good way to get in the habit of showing up when expected, dealing with people, and figuring out what's expected of you. If you screw up it generall...

I am not sure what version of MATW you saw but it hardly sounds like the one I and many others have seen. Based on your comments here and in IMDB you seem to be of the opinion that anyone with negative feelings towards the movie is inherently wrong. The subject matter is something many people feel ...
