I have never felt my interests to be "special" as such, but over the years they have covered things such as, amongst others: competitive bodybuilding, the Scoville rating (hotness of chili peppers, in other words), certain video games, psychopathology, coffee (I am a trained barista). Right now I am...

It depends on the person, I suppose. AS is an aspect of one's personality, not its totality.

If you dwell on arguments, it's probably more to do with your basic personality than anything to do with AS.

I have AS, is it because I have AS?

Nothing weird about that! The weird people are the ones who eat dessert BEFORE the main meal!

This has always been a tricky question. For a long time, a person's status was determined by the places I most often saw them. For example: people I worked with were colleagues; people at school, acquaintances; and then a few people who I saw outside of those contexts, genuine friends. Family member...

Just wondering if anyone else does this. I was thinking about this earlier, and I realised that I have always had this thing about listening to the same parts of certain songs over and over. I often find myself listening to a song and either forwarding or rewinding to a certain section repeatedly, i...

Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment had a profound effect on me when I first read it. It took me 2 days of solid reading to finish, but it captivated me completely for those 2 days and almost put me into some kind of trance.

I do, and always have. I enjoy banter, and ribbing with people. The important thing is knowing when to stop, and what lines not to cross.

Your review is nicely written and a pleasure to read, but I don't share your fondness for the film. I felt it misrepresented AS and drew a caricatured picture of what it is. I found it very hard to relate to Adam and his experience of AS. I think the problem was that everything about his AS was too ...

I'd hate it more than I hate the word "aspie". I'd probably seek to overthrow its government.

Throughout my life, from childhood to the present, I have unwittingly modelled myself on a range of different characters, both real and imagined. By modelled I mean that I adopted select mannerisms, figures of speech and even the fashion of whichever persona I was interested in. Some of these "idols...
