The story of good old Martin Bryant would have to be the most horrific of anyone diagnosed with primarily AS. One of his reasons for killing all of those people was due to feeling like a social outcast. Was Bryant ever diagnosed with AS? He supposedly scored below 70 on the IQ tests he was given, s...

Futhermore Michjo.....you might wish to acknowledge the existence of subconscious motivations in human behavior. Maybe you don't consciously apprehend any self-interest motivations for doing these things, that doesn't necessarily mean there weren't any. We are not always consciously aware of the mot...

Mind giving me a few examples? I offered to give my brother my ps3 for free, he didn't want it so i sold it. I gave my brother's ex-girlfriend my tv, that i could have sold for monies (probably about £100), even though i knew i'd never see her again (not that i'd want to see her again either). I us...

That's your answer?[/quote Yup. You don't know how it was back then. The War Cry was "Remember Pearl Harbor". There was a blood hatred of the Japanese back then. You have no idea how it was, so do not say anything. If we had ten nukes we would have dropped them all on Japan. The hatred was so deep ...

There's always a "what's in it for me?" factor. I do many things that aren't in my self-interest and in my situations there is no-feel good factor or any avoiding of unpleasantness. I think you place too much importance on emotions in this regard. Mind giving me a few examples? If you do...i'm bett...

I think this is evident to most intelligent people by now. Nonetheless...I think we can agree that most people would not want to live in a world where every man is a wolf to their neighbor. So what's wrong with analyzing the wolves and finding out how we can stop them in their tracks? Being sad for...

How exactly does one prevent human evil? Evil is subjective and doesn't exist as a concrete idea. Let's try and stay away from a philosophical debate eh? I think this is evident to most intelligent people by now. Nonetheless...I think we can agree that most people would not want to live in a world ...

Unwilling to change? How about unable. Unwilling and unable. I think what i've said applies to both words. There's no point feeling sorry for anne frank, there is nothing we can do for her. You shouldn't feel sorry for starving children in africa if you are unwilling to spare a portion of your wage...

You say that you don't care. I don't have a problem with that. Whether you care or not isn't my business. By the same token I don't think it's your business whether someone else cares or not. Saying someone shouldn't care if they can't do anything about it is insulting. It's like you're invalidatin...

Chronozon, I get where you are coming from. Oh boy, do I ever. Images of human cruelty can stick in my head for literally decades. I'm middle aged and still get bothered by the descriptions and woodcut drawings of torture during witch trials that I encountered as a child. I try to stay away from re...

But other people aren't you. I could equally say that you don't have the right to not care but I don't. I don't understand the point to your comment? No "right"? If you are unwilling to relieve the plight then you shouldn't be upset about it. What exactly is the average individual supposed to do to...

Sadly...nature doesn't seem much less cruel than human beings. Okay...we can forgive nature on the grounds that it "knoweth not" what it does. But is it really just as cruel as human beings? It basically feeds and changes and recycles. It doesnt torture for enjoyment. True...Mark Twain did a wonder...

I know I am. I was watching "Henry...potrait of a serial killer" last night. The movie is loosely based on the serial killers Henry Lee Lucas and Otis Toole. As always after seeing images of such monstrous sadism, I am actually traumatized today. I was unable to fall asleep until 5:00am this mornin...
