Yes, I'm an empath and I think a lot. I can extrapolate, and think broadly but fairly. And I'm creative. And people are weird. Who can ever know what they'll do, or not do, or have done, or not done. True about needing to turn it off.. I've learnt that more over time. Whoever mentioned Darlie Routie... |

Personally, I wouldn't mind being in a bar (ordinarily I just don't go to them, or on dates or anything either) if it were socially acceptable to read a great big fat book there; even better if it were cool to discuss it with someone who could actually hold a conversation about it. Oh, you mean you... |

^ ^ Yep!
I love them too. Although, I am also fascinated in real life.
They are a mystery.
I like puzzles. |

The rick-losing-his-mind bit isn't doing it for me. And how is tyrese so built in a world without illegal steroids?? Heh! Exactly x 2. The walkers seem to have brought the group together but there will have to be either a bonding or rejection event regarding Merle, I think, since he rea... |

I'm like the poster who has a neuro degree (YAY!!) .. my major is/was neuroscience, which is vocationally silly as the only thing it leads into is a PhD so you can do research which would be GREAT but I have no money and I don't think I can survive as a student for another five years. mysassyself, ... |

I realized that I am very easily repulsed or even disgusted by other people. For example, I have a sensitive nose, and if someone has even the least amount of body odor it almost makes me sick to sit near to them. Also, I find most people's laugh extremely annoying. It sounds like a monkey making n... |

I relate to a couple of these posts and it is an interesting topic. I am coming up to completing my first bachelor degree after about five 'false starts' in differing fields and am totally petrified I will never get a job although there is not really evidence one way or the other. I am capable of go... |

Finally, one I can answer! Kudos on simplifying this one. Yes. I am employed. I have no idea if I'm underemployed or overemployed, since I got a degree so long ago that dinosaurs were still dying out and I am in a field where you're only as good as the project you just finished. I'm also in a field... |

I live completely independently although I find employment troublesome and therefore have financial/housing support. I don't know how I'd go without that (I really am not sure one way or the other). Other than that, I tend to be chronically independent, haven't had a partner for years, and don't wan... |

I wouldn't say I consider myself an expert on this, but it sounds like the important thing is getting some strategies in place, and pinpointing what your triggers are (if possible). A good therapist who knows about ASDs may be able to help with this. 'Help' may be the key word as not all therapists ... |

I am certainly under the impression that there can be an association, but have not read that it is definitive (and they can occur independently of one another).
Having said that, I definitely see a connection and higher incidence in aspies. |
