It's possible, however unlikely, that you have been reading too many psychology books, and your friends are, by and large, fairly healthy people.

Just a passing thought.

Friends come, go, turn to enemies, and occasionally they simply linger too long... Family can be a powerful ally, but a costly ally and often a terrible enemy... Money is survival. It is food and shelter, legal defense and insurance policy, career and education. You can live without friends and fami...

I usually hold my tongue around here, but- Oh! -this is simply too cute! :D It is always tempting to believe that we're not really defective, that we're actually entirely healthy and that all of our problems are the result of 'oppression', 'isolation', 'subordination', 'marginalization', 'segregatio...

You'll need a career someday. Go get a EE.

The key to my survival and success was not controlling my obsessions, but choosing to fix on one for the remainder of my life and make it the focus of my work. So far, it's worked reasonably well.

Honestly guys. I have read several comments and talked to several people. I noticed a pattern. Often people with AS think they do certain things, such as do poorly on tests, do poorly in jobs or at school, or have other issues, because of their AS. I can tell you, only when you stop using the AS as...

The problem though is that the teaching of evolution is not based on it being a theory but on it being a proven fact - just look at some of the comments of previous posters. Please read my previous post. Pure scientists should be interested in the truth - not trying to make the truth fit the theory...

Our obsessions actually are pipe dreams. Before considering your son's career in music, go to a professional musician's union and ask a musician what sort of life they lead. Ask them where they live, what they eat, how much they make. Music is a fine hobby and probably an excellent thing for him to ...

I've been roundly attacked on this site before for writing what I am about to write, including many accusations that I do not have Asperger's Syndrome, or that I am lying, so I will preface this by saying that I am not likely to pay attention to replies. I am providing this information for purely al...

I typed that way for many years. Gradually, as I got faster and older, I began to type with several more fingers, but I still type with only four to six fingers. I am now comparable to the upper division CS majors in terms of speed and reliability. It may well have something to do with Asperger's Sy...
