I was always taught that fresh vegetables were always preferable to frozen but the prevailing nutritional wisdom (in the UK at least) is that frozen is better because the vegetables are fresher when they're frozen than they are by the time the fresh article gets to you in the supermarket. This remin...

I think I am just hoping that Johnson comically screws it all up snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and we end up with a hung parliament, from which emerges a Lib/Lab/SNP coalition. Be careful what you wish for. That could be the trigger for some real unrest in the country. I'm not even sure...

One way of looking at it is that the basis for the accusation of racial profiling is dependant on the associations people make when they see "No Hoodies" or "No Tracksuit Bottoms" (in the UK white people wear those clothes just as much as black people) so, if someone interprets t...

I've never explored their music in any depth but I've always loved Firestarter. I almost bought that album on impulse a while back.

May he rest in peace.

Musical growth? If artists keep releasing the same album every couple of years people will tire of them and stop listening to their records. At the same time, there is also the risk of going too far away from their usual material and upsetting their existing fanbase. It can be a very difficult balan...

I spend a lot of time these days listening to music to the point where I feel a creative itch to do something of my own. I'm too lazy to learn an instrument but I like the idea of playing General in a virtual production studio and experimenting with drum beats/bass lines/guitar riffs/piano melodies,...

All done. Just had to ask to reset my password and two minutes later I'm signing in and out no problem. Looks like I'm all set for the PS4. Thanks very much for your help.

You shouldn't buy an N64 if you intend to use it on an HDTV unless you plan on getting the very expensive HDMI mod done. It's the most CRT-dependant system I've come across; I found the games virtually unplayable on two different flatscreens. RGB might yield better results but that still requires a ...

I'm planning to buy a PS4 in the not too distant future and wish to use the Playstation Store. I opened an account with what was the Sony Entertainment Network back in 2013 to buy some PSP games and haven't used the account since. I just tried logging in on the PS website with my e-mail address and ...

XBox 360 - you can pick up a slim model with 250GB hard drive for about £60 and games for as little as £3. I particularly recommend the GTA games (IV, V and Episodes from Liberty City), Red Dead Redemption, Ghostbusters: the Video Game, Blur and Split/Second: Velocity.

Had an Atari. I remember upgrading the RAM TO 1MB... then I really was away. I used to play "Knights of the Sky" for hours on end. Embarrassing edit... it wasn't even a CD, it was a floppy disc... oops! Ah, a fellow ST man. I still use an ST to this day (4MB STe) with a hard drive emulato...

I came across this on one of my other forums recently. It's not exactly D&D but it's of a similar ilk. It's not really my thing but it may appeal to some of the posters here:

I don't know if I could deal with the real hardware, though...I can't imagine a tape drive being much fun at all =) I mean, besides the fact that I'm in NTSC-world. The vast majority of US release C64 games were on floppy disk. The 1541 and its variants were a lot cheaper in the States. The increas...

The best advice I can give you is to not see loneliness as such a big deal. I found that things got better for me when I stopped trying to make friends and just did the things I wanted to do on my own. It's important to be comfortable in your own company. I don't really have friends as such. I have ...

[i]The Shining - One of Stephen King's best film adaptions. Are you talking about the Stanley Kubrick film with Jack Nicholson or the 1997 mini-series? If it's the former, your comment is particularly interesting because King had nothing to do with the production of the film and was very unhappy wi...

And that's only if you're talking console games. If you're after arcade games, you're out of luck. Even less of those ever get used in paid products, and often VERY badly. I refer you to the Midway Arcade Treasures compilations and Namco Museum and there were also compilations released for Capcom a...
