Greetings, I am proud to announce that Heather and I are a newlywed couple, both of whom are on the spectrum. Here is our story. When I embarked on my very first solo cruise on 25 July 2015 aboard the Norwegian Getaway, all I wanted to do was to celebrate my 50th birthday in a very special way. With...

I believe that it is imperative to keep the dialogue and the story as believable as possible. Make the characters as multidimensional as you can. Make your readers feel like they are sitting in the middle of the action by describing the sights, sounds, scents, touches, and tastes in your narration.

I must share a few notes from the above scene. David is an Aspie and has to deal with the conflict between his Aspergian nature and his desire for social interaction. Ashley, his leading lady, is the prototypical Southern socialite who leads him out of the darkness and silence of his life and turns ...

The second scene I have edited out of "Topless Delivery" (my first novel) takes place out on the oceanfront patio at the Marriott Grande Dunes Resort, where Chad and Heather's wedding reception is taking place. In this scene, David (my Aspergian narrator) brings out his laptop computer and uploads t...

Hi, I recently completed and self-published two steamy romance novels featuring an Aspergian narrator/leading man in each story. They are actually a two-part series. The first novel is called "Topless Delivery - The Myrtle Beach Experience". The title refers to the car, not the driver. :P David, my ...

Two Different Worlds Walking along the beach beneath a star-spangled sky, Yearning for my home and native land, I hold you tightly with a tear in my eye, For you could never possibly understand. You and I live in two very different worlds, Afraid that they might one day collide, We long for the day ...

Living in seclusion high above the city, I see the mass of humanity down below. Wishing I could connect with them in some way, I know better than to approach those I don't know. Living in fear of how others will judge me, Knowing that many people wish me harm, I wish I could extend a friendly hand, ...

Something has gone horribly wrong when I can no longer be "just friends" with any woman for fear of offending either her husband/boyfriend and/or my own girlfriend, regardless of whether I find her attractive. I've had a few life-threatening experiences in this realm. I have learned to maintain a 2 ...

I have personally experienced numerous false allegations, one of which was serious enough to cost me my share in a small company that I co-founded. Women can file false claims for any of several different reasons, including attempts to extort money from a man or revenge for a relationship gone sour....

Judging by my own experience, ogling is viewed as sexual harassment and, therefore, a criminal offense where I come from. To make matters worse, the charge can come from a third party such as a possessive spouse or partner. It is now no longer enough to "keep our hands to ourselves." We must now "ke...

The following is taken from my most recent post in my personal blog, "The Horrible Asp". This post is a summary of my personal experiences and a message to neurotypical women. While some people tell me that I'm "trying too hard," at least I'm willing to try...to reach out. Much to the surprise of ma...

I have recently submitted a video audition to become the next Public Address Announcer at Wrigley Field. As an Aspergian, as well as a Cubs fan, I would like to use the position to raise public awareness for Asperger Syndrome and other Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as to overcome my social limit...

Please keep in mind that the name "Asperger House" is merely a conceptual name, rather than the actual name of the house. The house would be for all students with all Autism Spectrum Disorders. Would the name "Alpha Sigma Pi Fraternity" sound better? ;) The house would look and function more like a ...

Disclosing your diagnosis can be a very touchy subject. Unless your behavioral anomalies are likely to become obvious, I would recommend a wait and see approach in "coming out". I use the term "coming out" because disclosing AS is very similar to a lesbian or gay man coming out of the closet...and f...
