Sorry if this thread is a few days old. Looking back now, I see that I had three different types of play: Friends-play Brother-play After-dark When I played with other kids my age, play was usually very rigidly scripted - I'd play the same scene over and over with different people. Imaginative play ...

I just need a bit of help, dammit! Huuuuuuuuuge incident at school today; I couldn't understand how to do my PE homework. It's really frustrating, I can do so much, I can be so much. I just need a little bit of help. I used to go to a really good private school - you know, the types where you're mor...

Today in science class one of my close friends told me her old math teacher died. My friend joined the school in September, so I never met the teacher. However she was quite obviously upset. As in, crying, etc. What's the appropriate response? I generally just said 'I'm sorry. If you want some genui...

Three really is the most magic of numbers. Even I am divided up into three parts. The crazy, the perfect, and the different. All three of us have different names, I guess. The crazy doesn’t have a name; that’s kinda her name - she’ll respond to anything you throw at her. The crazy doesn’t really fit...

It's kinda hard to read. I'm using Chrome, and most of your post just keeps going down the page, past the white, so it's on the washing machines. I've seen this before and I think it has to do with the 'div' properties in the code. Anyways, I can read the blog if I highlight the words, going to read...

I don't think I could actually talk to another family member, let alone my guidence counsellor, (who is a stranger, this is her first year as a guidence counsellor, she has no idea what she is doing and she tells the class that, and she is bubbly. I don't think she could comprehend someone not havi...

I had already explained to the high school that my son is very self-conscious and doesn't want the other students to know. He appears to be gifted AND have asperger's. He consistently scores in the 99th percentile on standardized tests, but can't figure out how to dress for the weather, keep track ...

Yeah I don't understand why NT's feel the need to do this. And sometimes about the most arbitrary things. Just speak up for yourself. If you don't want to spend your vacations with your grandmother, tell her you already have other plans. I've tried. We all have. She really doesn't understand that c...

I'm most likely going to boarding school next year. So, I'm in New England right now, getting ready to visit some schools. Just to explain, I have five grandparents, since two of them got divorced and one's remarried. My mom's parents are fine with the idea. I like both of them, and they like me in ...

A photograpic memory isn't so good. >< I'd rather be able to remember voices then re-draw a picture everytime I think. AND you don't have to be autistic - I'm not sure if I am, lol. I'm the opposite. I can remember almost nothing visually; it all comes to me in words. I remember things I hear easil...

I once got lost in the middle of a five-block or ten-block tourist market in Hong Kong. So yeah, I've been known to do stuff like that on occasion. But, it's really hard to get lost in New York if you know the general area, since it's a grid.

I live for snow. But, I'm in Hong Kong right now. It never snows here.

I love snow/winter so much that I'm only considering boarding schools where I've got a 90% or higher chance of snow.

I'm fine with being me ... whatever that is. I'd love to be this one kid I know, but just for like a week. I'm not sure what the heck was with him. My best guess would be gifted with mild ADHD. He was a character. We got along pretty well. I felt sorry for the adults though. I met him at camp, so it...

I've only tried to explain to my friends, so it went like this:
"You know how I have no social skills?"
"Yeah, we all know."
"Turns out it's a real thing."
"Oh. *promptly forgets*"

When I was little, we didn't have a color TV. Best quote from a preschooler ever?

(A horrified me to my dad after seeing TV at someone else's house)

"Dad, Barney's PURPLE!"

I almost never watched the show though. I preferred Sesame Street, then Zoom and Between the Lions
