I'm a good dancer. That's my savant super power. Anyone want to trade for some L33t math skillz or something? It's a talent so useless to me as a lazy reclusive nerd that I forget I can even do it until one of those rare situations where I make it to a club or a party where there's dancing and...

Statement 2. sounds like a good strategy, but if this really is one-sided hostility, then statements 1. and 3. are unreasonable whether you have AS or not. It may be that your boss is assuming that ethnic discrimination against you is just a communication problem on your part, because of your AS. Wh...

It's not a weighted blanket. 'Cos that would be pretty weird, right? So, um, no... it's just a really big paperweight.

I wish I'd done the poll better - I would have put "Yes I played with dolls - I mangled them in various ways" because then I think 100% of us would have checked that box.

To be fair on us, I think most NT girls mutilate their dolls at some point. Little girls are evil.

"Aspie sense" yeah, that's a good name for it. Mine has really improved in the last couple of years. These days, when my aspie sense is tingling, I just try to confess as much about my own aspieness to the person as I can, to get the conversation flowing without making them too uncomfortable. I've h...

What they call creative play is actually imitative play.
How we play is at least as creative, if not moreso.
The "single cause of social blindness" article on the front page kind of supports that idea, if you read it.

Pulled their limbs off and stuck them back on. Dragged them around by the hair. Never play-acted with them. I even attempted to play-act a couple of times because I knew that's what some toys were for. But I just couldn't. It didn't make any sense.

I am an Aspie. I am not proud of being treated like crap by the dominating NTs just for getting by. I am not proud of being constantly ridiculed everyday for my lack of facial expressions or for my inability to get a joke or for my inability just to freaking communicate. I am not proud of the fact ...

Various attempts at working inskilled jobs have been pretty disasterous for me. I think aspies do better when we specialize.

A movie where the hero isn't obviously AS and where you can't really even tell until near the end of the movie, and on repeat viewings at that. In otherwords, a realistic portrayal of someone with Asperger's Syndrome. A movie where the character seems normal-ish, but you get into the character's he...

Yeah, I think I tend to err on the side of being a selfish ****.
There's a quasi-Aspergian person in my life who does the opposite, and always ends up being used.
I think I'd rather be a loner than have that happen.
