Thank you for responding. I think what is also difficult for me about this environment is that everybody does care and they do want to do the best. They are just so totally ignorant of what an autistic needs to be successful. They run around in circles slamming doors and setting off hand dryers with...

I've been reading this thread with great interest, because I am having all these problems in my current job. The funny thing is I work at a group home for autistics. I put that I'm an Aspie on my resume and am under constant pressure to disclose to all the staff...but I see the way the staff treat o...

This is such a timely topic for me! I just lost another "friend" due to his frustration and anger that I "don't live up to my potential." He seems to think that if I just tried harder I wouldn't be autistic! Although I have refered him to educational sources about Aspergers.... This is such a theme ...

Thank you to everyone for the welcome and especially AspieForty for taking so much time to help and write back to me. When I said I was anxious all the time, I meant before the meds. I didn't really know I was suffering so much until the meds kicked in and it is such a relief. You are absolutely cor...

She doesn't seem to really understand what aspergers is. I don't want to be cu...

I used to try and do Christmas presents and I always got the wrong things. Also I would get things I didn't want or need and feel obligated to hold on to them. Last year I got little things at the farmer's market, a pair of wool socks, pickles, a jar of jelly, etc.. It was inexpensive and no stress....

I am new too and I am not familiar with how to post on a forum, so I hope this works. I have long known that something was different about me and just recently was diagnosed with Asperger's. I found this site and have been reading and I can understand what you all are talking about in a way I can't ...
