I could never leave my hair alone; I always had to do something crazy with it. I was bored and understimulated. I dyed it blue, dyed it green, dyed a third of it darker brown, layered it myself, tied it in knots and put paper clips and elastic bands and bobby pins and anything else I could find in m...

Puberty! Oh, God, never again. I was depressed from age 11 to age 22, but it got worse, way worse oiver the years and by the time I was 19 1/2 I needed treatment for it. I have improved a huge deal since I was 19. If they had had the time to tell me more about the meds when I was in grade 9 or 10 I ...

You do what you really want to do and it will be just as important and contribute just as much to everything.

I had to learn the "Be yourself" lesson the hard way.

If an Aspie is obsessed with politics and world issues and if that's their special interest, he should be president because he SPENDS HIS WHOLE LIFE RESEARCHING HIS INTEREST and that qualifies (maybe overqualifies) him for the job. These people in office are so ignorant. They don't know s**t about w...

We should all wear supporting autists shirts (not supporting people who see us as a bother rather than a person) ALL THE TIME. Like, we should get a whole "support autists" wardrobe... other clothes too!

Years ago I'd have been terribly embarrassed to wear anything saying I had a PDD or anything wrong with or different about my head at all. But now I think it's a cool idea, and helps us identify each other so that we can meet up.

Of all the f*****g condescention in the world! We are not socially ret*d. We are either too understimulated to sit down and shut up (so wrapped up in the more stimulating things in my head), or we have no control of ourselves and can't help what we did, or we are doing it on purpose to get to someon...

What the Army doesn't get is that they are his obsession and therfore he will probably be the best soldier they ever had. Aspies develop intenmsely good skills from their obsessions.

I never thought an ASD would prevent anyone from joining the military!

Let's all get one of those shirts that says "I don't need Autism Speaks. I'm autistic. I can think for myself." We'll ALL wear them on the same day. that day we can also post flyers everywhere that say the same thing. Who's in? I hope I can find someplace to order one; in my country we aren't allowe...
