I was asked that constantly when I was in my teens and 20's. Most of the time I was not, but sometimes I was.

I grew up in the Chicago area and have since lived in pretty much every area of the US. With that said, I now live (for 18 years) in a very small town in the mountains of Tennessee. I chose to live here, it is quiet and beautiful. So, how does a former city boy get along down here? I treat people li...

I feel somewhat bad when I see someone crying, but mainly it's just confusing. What do you say or do for the person? I usually end up saying the wrong thing which makes it even worse.

Tried pretty much everything back in the 70's. LSD was a sensory nightmare; sounds too loud, lights too bright and didn't like the harsh, chemical feel that it had. Mescaline, on the other hand, I quite enjoyed a number of times. Had a more natural feel to it.

I feel accepted by the few people in my life that mean something to me. For everyone else, I simply don't care what they think about me.

Probably the biggest regret of my life was not being able to drive. Because of it I've had to depend on other people which made me feel like an inconvenience. I did try and even had lessons more than once but was never able to 'get it' because there was just too much going on. Now that I'm 60+ years...

I've had many interests over the years; some went by the wayside, a few are still with me though not with the same intensity. And one interest began in 1962 and is still going strong.

People have commented my whole life. I have very large dark eyes. Used to get things like 'scary' or 'spooky'. Some even said it gave them chills when they looked into my eyes. And of course, in school, everyone thought I was stoned. Which come to think about it, I may have been.

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: When someone asks you a rhetorical question, do you answer?

Generally, if someone is looking in my direction and asks anything that sounds like a question, I attempt to answer it. If told it didn't require an answer I usually will continue until I am satisfied that I have answered the original question to the best of my ability. I find the whole rhetorical q...

It's time for that 'holiday season' again. And it starts with the dreaded Thanksgiving. The one where I try to find a safe corner to sit in while everyone else talks, drinks, eats and usually some will get into an argument. What is it with these people? In over 50+ years I have yet to figure out the...

Nope, never did like sleeping in the same bed with anyone. Even though I have been married more than once I pretty much always insisted that I have my own room...or I would sleep on the couch. At other times we would work different shifts so it wasn't a problem. As you can imagine it put a major str...

I am very fascinated by people. I guess it's because, in general, I don't understand most of the ones I meet. Their motivations, what seems to please them or make them sad, etc. Many seem to just stumble through life without bothering to think. But they are really interesting to watch and always bri...

Any type of anxiety will get me to pacing, usually in counter-clockwise circles. I do talk to myself quite often but not always when pacing.
