I lost track a little bit near the end when all the other characters cane in (siblings and ex’s exs and such). First - you did a good thing helping your ex’s son with his job search. You should be proud of yourself. Second - it seems to me that for whatever reason your post doesn’t tell the whole st...

That’s a compliment - the gold standard is an incredibly stupid idea!

Most of that is the sort of stuff we’ve unfortunately come to expect from Mr Trump.

The thing that stood out to me was Trump telling some of his supporters that he doesn’t like them. Talk about political savvy

Please try to avoid extended commentary on the flaws of other users, either specific or general. If you see someone else doing this and need to get it out of your system then a report is better than a reply.

I think the changes I'd suggest would be dry and technical, so instead I'll go through the options in the poll, just for fun: return to 70% tax rate for the 1% Personally, I don't think it is right for a government to take more than half your earnings. I would like to see some bureaucratic change to...

The benefits of university education tend to accrue largely to the student, so it is my opinion that students should also pay a sizeable share of the cost. I quite like the British system although it is not perfect. This contrasts with early years education, which is an effective way to improve outc...

This problem occurs because there are those who misuse News and Current Events to promote political views, try to influence voters or whatever political motivation other than just sharing a news and current events story... The mods know who these people are (heck, we all do), so why don't the mods ...

Just a reminder that we do not have a rule against conspiracy theories. They are forbidden only on a case-by-case basis if they break one of our other rules, such as the prohibition on racism.

This is News and Current Events, not PPR. Please avoid accusations of bad-faith against other users. This is not the place for mudslinging. Talk about the news story rather than ascribing sinister motives to the people who raise it.

There will never be a two state solution. As the US is paying for the illegal settlements on what would have been a Palestinian state. Israel needs to be boycotted, divested against and sanctioned. One state solution is the only way now. Well if there is to be one state then I would much prefer it ...

Ever wondered why your elected politicians refuse to do anything remotely against the climate changes/CO2-crisis, despite all their promises? False assumption - my politicians have agreed to do their part to stop climate change, and help other countries do their part. I don't think your solutions w...
