I'm glad you weren't fired. I appreciate the well wishes, but yep, I got fired. Ten days ago and I am still quite freaked out. 8O I was in a no win situation, absentee owners that have zero appreciation for the contributions over the last twelve years. What have you done for me lately sort of thing... |

An update. I have had some success with private messaging through Google Plus. DS did indeed send me a link to the microphone that he wanted. A nice one, and we got it a few days ago. Alas, it would not work (its complicated, something about confusing the drivers) so we returned it. Since, he has lo... |

I put myself in your son's place and I go back to that time in my life where my need for privacy was absolute (some people describe their SM as a fear of being known) .Throughout your posts you have admitted to occasionally snooping through you son's things, or crossing boundaries your son has trie... |

Couple of months have passed, and a bit of progress. Sort of a long story, but it is relevant in the end. DS is progressing in his music. He broke a guitar string, so I picked up a set of Ernie Ball stainless strings (researched a bit and found these to be of good quality). We (I) strung up his guit... |

Nah, not really family related at all. I am a mechanical engineer. See my username? I chose that for a reason. I am in danger of getting fired because I am getting run over by 25 year old engineers with 3-D solid modeling skills. Takes years to learn that stuff and I am just to old to get my head ar... |

OK, I have known for a while now that DS has a tumblr account and he posts a "Song of the Day". Today's song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyHXV0g2kM4 I swear when I first heard the instruments that it was an original, that it was his work . This is EXACTLY what I have been able to hear when I ca... |

Sorry, been consumed with work for a couple days. Trying not to get fired . . . . . . that would not be good right now. I am 57 years old and falling apart. Supporting the family would be difficult were I to get fired right now. I had actually not looked at the Wiki article. Wiki is not usuall... |

The YouTube messaging is completely private. It is just like email in that regard. I do not know why he chose YouTube, but it was his suggestion so I went with it. I coerced him to read the first message that I sent him by telling him that it was something that I had gotten for him. I know he read i... |
Ah, I see now that FL Studio you mentioned it the new name for Fruityloops.
Yep, and just like that (snap fingers) he has progressed further than anything I will ever be able to relate to. Back in the day, I could play a bit of guitar, but old age and "meaty hand syndrome" have caught... |

Yep, bayou country is 20 miles south of us. Went kayaking this past Sunday with DD. No way to get DS in a kayak though . . . . . . . And it was a gorgeous day. We actually have a buddy that produces music. Still sort of amateur, but he does have a studio of sorts. I have to wait and see a bit on tha... |

Wow, lots of good responses. Thanks guys, Korie, you asked about Early Man a few pages back, I did send DS a link, but no interest that I can discern. Thank you for that, his main interest at present seems to be Pink Floyd / RadioHead. Stalking has paid off a bit, I just last week found his Tumblr s... |

Kortie, thank you for your kind words and understanding. I appreciate the moral support! TCM, point well taken. I am so focused on getting the communication that I have not focused on "upping the game" as far as the questions are concerned. Your point about talking face to face is well taken as well... |

A tiny breakthrough. DS lost his guitar pick. Tore the house apart, but that sucker was GONE. We borrowed one from DD and got the immediate fire put out. So I went on eBay and bought a package of 10 Fender Blue picks. Instead of telling DS that I had picks, I sent him a message on Google Plus that h... |

Thank you Emile, Yes about a page back. When we had DS in therapy, the diagnosis was profound AS and Selective Mutism. The therapist was optimistic that she could address the mutism, but she couldn't crack the shell to get access. And she was not doing anything that we had not been doing for years. ... |

Wasn't really a secret. I was standing out in the driveway. But I do a bit of covert operations. I have to if I am going to see anything he is doing. I have not been busted yet. I am sure I will be eventually, as he is waaaay smarter than me. :) He is not paranoid by nature, not like me. I think eve... |
