Ok I spoke about the diet elsewhere here. I'm not sure why when it comes to diet there are such passionate (and mostly negative) reviews. Diets are difficult but I figured it would be the first thing you tried before putting someone on medication. Anyway that's a whole other rant. Below is a link to...

I would say the female detective from that show Bones. Perfect example right there. She's always viewing situations from the outside looking in. She blurts out the obvious a lot, which makes it really charming actually. There are several characters in that show that deal with daily social dilemmas a...

I think a book about Autism by Autistics is a great idea. However, while I'm not against the idea, I question if it can have any effect on the people who should read it (NTs) because, NTs don't study something in order to understand it, they study things in order to control it. I fear that you guys...

Just have to say I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. I felt this way too much while reading articles written by those I assume are NT (just by the style of thought process). It is all over Wikipedia articles, it just drips with it. I found a book once I picked up that read like a bunch of medi...

You know I just moved to Seattle. I moved here because sunlight was harder on my eyes, and coming from Florida there was lots of that. I think maybe people on the spectrum would probably just prefer the cloudier atmosphere thus deciding to move here, and then of course because it tends to be heredit...

I know what you mean. I used to get this all the time. I would be looking for something like a CD or set of keys on a desk in a group of objects and somehow feel like im not actually catching it, or focusing on anything. It felt more like being in trance and sort of looking through my peripheral vis...

As I was writing my last reply I was trying to put my finger on something regarding the speech issue (the disconnected voice feeling). To describe the feeling more exactly I'd have to say it feels like having that inner-voice, you know the one that you "really" are, who always says the right things....

I have a friend that is AS that is a pharmacist, he said when he was on a gluten free dairy free diet, he had to use a calculator all the time for configuring titration rates, rather than just having the numbers just calculate themselves in his mind as he was used to it happening. Yes, it makes me ...

I want to clear up to anyone that has tried GFCF in the past and had no luck that my symptoms only mildly improved with Gluten and Casein removal. The final step of getting rid of Soy (which is in EVERYTHING practically, in the form of oils like in some bags of chips or sauces) made all the differen...

This may sound strange to some of you if you haven't experienced the diet for yourself. But I've been having this aching feeling that somehow part of me died when I began the GF/CF/Soy-free diet. I am not complaining really. I do believe it works 100% at least for me. I've improved with focus and so...

Hey guys. New to this forum. Was wondering if there are any non-straights here. As our interests are similar and experiences it would be nice to meet you here. I'm in need of friends to talk to.

Thanks!
