Grapheme-> colour for me as well. One of my non-spectrum sisters has it too. I'm not sure what this is called, but when i'm playing with some of my seed cones or certain stim objects, I experience the stim as a very satisfying "mouth-feel", which is nice. I sometimes get that from interesting light ...

I have poor fasion sense and no hair/makeup skills, so I tend to make myself look insane. I make a lot of hair mistakes: - cut my own bangs (while drunk) - bleached my dark hair to orange, then dyed it fire-truck red. This destroyed my hair. Four years later, I'm still growing out the damage. - got ...

Are their any aspies/auties who are comfortable in and/or enjoy the church environment? Within the last year, I've joined the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Orthodox liturgy is long, but it's an involved sensory experience - ikons, incense, bells, choir. It's rather hypnotic, and more importantly, ...

OMG, yes. I have an earflap toque that I wear when I'm feeling anxious/crazy (I'm wearing it right now). If that doesn't work, I'll throw a skirt or blanket over my head.

Flapping is one of the 'classic' stims I read about to 'watch for' as a sign of autism. I don't really flap (unless perhaps I'm forgetting a word or something), I more make strange and sudden claw-shapes with my hand. And I rock a bit. Claw-hands! I do that too, but I call it tai-chi hands. When my...

I forgot to mention - shirt stays are essentially suspenders that attach your shirt to your socks. Like a garter belt.

1 - Plants, specifically conifers, extra-specifically firs (Abies spp.).
2 - Asperger's (I have a therapy appointment coming up, which always triggers a fixation)
3 - Orthodox Christianity. |

I never, ever tuck anything in. The sensation makes me feel like i'm losing my mind. That's why I never wear button-downs or tailored clothes. My boyfriend, on they other hand, can't stand to leave anything untucked. His outfit is usually a Star Wars t-shirt tucked into pleat-fronted dress pants. We...
